@Top100Rick @SerPink The “safe” play on those chips is toward the middle of the green where things flatten out a bit (red X below). Easier putt & fewer slope dangers. But that involves accepting a 15+ foot putt as your “best” option on a chip, which is probably not something pros like very much.

Clown golf or no? Doak did some bold things with Memorial Park. But I have to wonder if he ever expected this to be an actual pin position in a tournament. Green in regulation and then missing the green twice…once putting once chipping. Just crazy.

@Top100Rick Similar pin when I played out there a few weeks before they closed the course for the tournament. Absolutely brutal. Hit what felt like 3 really great chips… only to see them trickle off the green. Miracle of a flop on my 6th to save triple. LOL at my GPS tracker lines. 😂

@CrainNBA Not only wasted a stellar night from SGA, but a great night from Lu Dort that we’ve been hoping to get for a while. SGA & LU DORT:
FG: 15/21 (71.4%) 3PT: 7/10 (70.0%)
REST OF THE TEAM:
FG: 23/59 (39.0%) 3PT: 5/27 (18.5%)

@Justintohoops The refs were consistent on both sides all night, but weren’t consistent with themselves. The first half was loose & they let guys get away with tons of contact… and then called one of the tightest games I’ve seen all year after halftime. Had to be maddening as a player.

The crowd hasn't been happy with these calls in favor of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. And while the officials definitely could've let some of them go, they've been calling this game tight on both ends. Boston is 23 for 27 from the line. OKC is 21 for 26.

@MichaelOnSports Total shift in the way they called the game before and after halftime. Q1: 7 FTs (4 OKC, 3 BOS) Q2: 2 FTs (0 OKC, 2 BOS) Q3: 27 FTs (14 OKC, 13 BOS) Q4: 19 FTs (8 OKC, 11 BOS) Boston was great & deserved the win, but the refs completely killed what was a great basketball game.

@MichaelOnSports Brutal shift in the officiating in the second half. They called it evenly both ways, but completely changed the calls they were making. There were 9 total FTs in the first half… then *27* in the 3rd qtr (+19 in the 4th). OKC didn’t adjust well & picked up too many dumb fouls.

Credit the Celtics on a big-time win. They outplayed OKC tonight. But just death by a thousand self-inflicted cuts too for the Thunder. Bailout fouls for free points at the line when the defense was doing well in the half-court, killed on the glass, and couldn't hit enough 3s.

@The_Uncontested And conveniently not posting his 3PT stats, hoping you don’t notice he was 3-for-13 (23.1%) in EACH of his last 2 games. And has taken 10+ threes in 12 straight games (avg 13.5/gm) while shooting 33% or worse in 8 of the 12. But at least he’s going to get that scoring title! 🙄

@sportstoons The hilarious part is: at this moment, the foul differential was literally 6-4 & multiple of the 76ers fouls were pretty careless, obvious offensive fouls. He was just mad OKC won a challenge — which was clearly the right call — because he didn’t see the right replay for it.

@The_Uncontested You could make it a lot easier by just looking at the numbers on a per minute basis (per 36) or per possession basis (per 100) — all of which SGA leads Luka in — without having to extrapolate something insane like SGA adopting Luka’s ridiculously bad shot selection & volume.

Luka Doncic has taken 116 more shots than SGA this season. If we assume SGA’s standard shot diet and efficiency (15.3 2PA @ 60.2% & 4.4 3PA @ 38.8%) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would have another 109 points from 2’s and 30 points from 3s and would be averaging more PPG than Luka with his FGA. (And that’s not even getting into the FT convo, which Luka has 76 more of)

Obviously, the more rounds someone plays, the harder it is to keep the average low. And plenty of great older guys had their average increase late in their career when they weren’t competitive but played just because they could… Still an incredible number for Rickie, though!

This made me want to look deeper into the numbers… If you set the minimum rounds to 40, these are the Top 5 all-time in Masters scoring avg: Spieth - 70.977 (44 rounds) Tiger - 71.300 (100 rounds) Phil - 71.442 (120 rounds) Rory - 71.452 (62 rounds) Rickie - 71.642 (42 rounds)
Kyle Porter@KylePorterNS

Masters stat of the day. Phil career scoring average: 71.442 Rory career scoring average: 71.452 Fitting that they have basically the exact same score in 182 combined rounds at ANGC (Phil: 120, Rory: 62) because they are having basically the same careers as well.

@hutch_golf If someone already has traditional sensors & an active Arccos subscription: Is there an additional yearly subscription cost to add things like Air or the Range Finder? Or is it just the cost of the actual devices & they can be added to the existing subscription plan?

In my time at Arccos, this is the thing I’m most proud of having contributed to. Tracking your shots without needing sensors on your clubs is a wild technical challenge. I can’t tell you how many versions of this we built over the last several years before we felt we had it right. A couple clarifications… - iOS only (for now) - New members can use the link I shared below - Existing users with a Link Pro / Air device can just take the sensors off your clubs and you’ll be good to go - In your settings, you can ask AI to auto tag your clubs or you can manually do it if it’s important to you. Strokes gained doesn’t care what club you hit. Lmk any questions!

The sensors are ... well sometimes we love them and sometimes we don't. They want the insights without the friction. Arccos Air is exactly that. No phone. No sensors. Just golf. A pocket-sized AI wearable that automatically tracks every shot of every round with no sensors on your clubs and no phone in your hand or pocket. My honest reaction to this is pretty simple. The data from Arccos has always been powerful. I have seen firsthand how much it can help golfers understand their games, make better decisions, and help them focus on the things that actually lower scores. But I never really liked the feel of sensors on my clubs. Now that problem is solved. I think Arccos Air is going to resonate with a lot of golfers who wanted the insights, but did not want anything attached to the grip. That friction is gone, and that changes the equation for a lot of people. Really smart product. Really meaningful step forward. (Use code DATALOU15 to save 15%) arccosgolf.com/pages/arccos-a…

@The_Uncontested McCain is actually at 53 GP including games with the 76ers, but those games also drop his average to 8.1 pts/game… which wouldn’t meet the original criteria of 10+ points.

@The_Uncontested Not really the same, though. OKC’s as deep as anyone, but 4 of the 8 at 10+ pts (or 9.9 for IHart) have played fewer than 50 games: Ajay 46, IHart 37, JDub 26 & McCain 16. All 8 of San Antonio’s currently qualify for the NBA’s pts/gm leaderboard (min. 70% of team games played).

@SleeperThunder Very true. And I’m sure a lot WILL happen by then, honestly. If I’m projecting 2+ years out… I think Dort, Wiggins & Kenrich might already be salary cap / luxury tax / apron casualties by that point. But that definitely makes this exercise a lot easier! 😂

@mikeray I like it! Also that’s why I based the opinion off of the way the roster is right now, because we have zero idea how it’ll look like in two years. A lot of things could happen by then.
