@bneeditor @cate_long Compelling, but the West would never go this way with Putin in power. He’s a murderer and quite frankly can’t be trusted. If there was a change in leadership in Russia, maybe a hopeful future.

Ah ha! So the kremlin is going back to its 2008 proposal of a PanEuropean new security deal to replace NATO, or better to say to superseded it
This is actually a good solution. The problem with NATO is that it excludes Russia and then by default makes it the enemy.
In 2008 when Medvedev became president the first thing he did was fly to Brussels with the proposal for a new security deal. A post Cold War deal.
They immediately threw it in the bin but Russia is right. NATO is a set up from the previous ideological clash and that is over now. Given that Russia is belligerent and aggressive it would be an excellent idea to have a security deal directly with it rather than just point guns at it.
The essence of the Russian proposal was to form a council that could be housed under the umbrella of the UN as the obvious trans national institution to oversee something like this.
Ironically had it been accepted in 2008 then it would’ve prevented the Ukraine war And provided a mechanism to thrash out the differences.
Russian have been very quiet about this but I think it’s what Putin actually wants – a new security deal that effect makes NATO irrelevant and to restart all the Cold War missile treaties. There’s plenty of common grounds to negotiate on these points which will be extremely difficult to do.
He’s my write up (latest version) of the 2008 proposal. There’s a link in the piece to the original proposal which is still on the fgn ministry website. I’ve been writing about this for a decade

JUST IN: Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass freezes up while getting absolutely skewered by a reporter for her horrible policies.
This is exactly how these people should be treated.
Reporter: "Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning?"
"Do you regret cutting the fire department budget by millions of dollars, madam mayor?"
"Have you nothing to say today?"
"Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today?"
"Elon Musk says that you're utterly incompetent. Are you considering your position?"
"Madam mayor, have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today who are dealing with this disaster? No apology for them?"
"Do you think you should have been visiting Ghana while this was unfolding back home?"
American reporters should take notes from this guy.

@Sonos I’m about to get rid of all of my Sonos speakers (8). After wasting so much time to finally get my speakers to play we had a 20 minute power outage yesterday and speakers show as not connected. Reboot doesn’t help. I have never been so frustrated with something that I used to ❤️

Right. Specifically, President Trump appointed…
Shipping heiress Elaine Chao to run Department of Transportation
A coal Lobbyist to run the EPA (Andrew Wheeler)
A pharma Exec to run HHS (Alexander Azar)
An oil Lobbyist to run the Department of the Interior (Ryan Zinke)
A banking Exec to run Treasury (Steve Mnuchin)
A Raytheon lobbyist to run the DOD (Mark Esper)
A Verizon lawyer to run the FCC (Ajit Pai)
An Exxon exec to run the State Department (Rex Tillerson)
The ultimate swamp creature, John Bolton, as National Security Advisor.

Trump admits he failed to drain the Washington swamp. But, he insists, if you elect him this time, he’ll get it done. I doubt it. Government only grows.

Boomers are horrible people.
71 years old, he is probably going to die while they are young and leave them nothing. They didn’t ask to be born, but because he wanted a hot younger wife, he now has kids and doesn’t want to provide for his family when he is dead.
Selfish A$$hole.
