Been thinking a lot about my PhD journey. Yeah I complain a lot about how hard it is to make those macrocycles and gels—but honestly? Every time I look at my project, ‘Damn, the structures, the properties are cool. That excitement is what keeps me going when things get rough.

Ok three months later… still waiting for my collaborator data……

I get facility managers can be busy but I don’t understand why it takes so long for new users to get to use such a easy instrument

I can’t believe at UChicago some of the most heavyuse facility only need less than a week to get trained, while some other facility here requires 3 MONTHS for manager to schedule a training for an instrument that only requires uses to click less than 5 buttons to collect data….

My physics simulation collaborator gets more excited and intrigued than me when I speak to them about my interlocked networks…. But I almost don’t feel excited anymore maybe because I work with my networks everyday and see it too much.

We performed the self-siphoning polymer solution demo in picture 3 (With Sheila Keating in my group not on X)! It was very fun to play with some brilliant kids! @UChiChemistry @UChicagoPME

Three years I made this monomer and had to run 3 columns to only isolate 3 mg to do all of the characterizations. Now I could re make 80 mg of it with one column. Getting very good at this project!!
