For the first time in my life, I’ve decided to honor my family’s wishes and become a stay-at-home mom. Everyone has such busy schedules, and they’ve asked me to be the steady, comforting presence at home instead of adding another packed calendar to our household. I think they truly love the way I care for them and look forward to coming home to a clean, warm space filled with the scent of something homemade waiting on the table.
This lifestyle is brand new to me, and I absolutely need ways to keep myself busy and fulfilled. I’m one of those people who can easily absorb negative energy, and when that happens, it doesn’t just affect my day—it weighs on my heart and spirit too.
Today I’ve already flipped the mattresses, changed all the bedding, scrubbed the stove, and cleaned out the refrigerator. Soon I’ll be making spaghetti and baking fresh bread to go with it.
More than anything, I want to embrace and truly love this role—for them, and for myself. I take being a mom, a sister, and a kind, caring person very seriously. I always want the very best for the people I love, and I’m committed to creating a home that reflects that deep care and warmth.
