@LetsGoDU I also think it has a lot to do with most of the NCHC coaches, especially Carle and Sandelin, who are kind of the statesmen of the NCHC. I think Berry was also in that group and Jackson may be there but he’s a bit too new. It’s tough not to like them… (continued)

I actually have a theory about this, specifically as to why this exists in the NCHC, but not in the B1G or HE. It has a lot to do with the fact that these are the teams that banded together when the WCHA was destroyed. Conference loyalty was very much not a thing until then.
