Here's why I feel nuts every time I'm on here: People respond to dimensional pieces of art on a two-dimensional platform, then use that platform to state their personal opinion as objective truth because it gets better engagement. It's like watching everyone lie all the time

as someone born in 1982, I can assure you that 80s nostalgia was virtually nonexistent in the 90s, and that Wedding Singer was a huge exception and the start of what became perpetual 80s nostalgia this century. when I was a teen in the 90s, *nothing* was more uncool than the 80s.

@dbessner I also think, on the creative side, there was a feeling among serious TV writers that something was changing and that better television was truly possible, especially after the successes of proto-prestige shows like Twin Peaks, Oz and NYPD Blue.
