🎓 If you are a student, staff member, alumnus, parent, or simply interested in the story of University of Nigeria, Nsukka hostels, come closer. Did you know that beyond the N44,000 hostel accommodation and allocation fee reportedly paid by each student, the Federal Government also disbursed a total of N594.6m between 2022–2025 for hostel-related projects in the university, largely for rehabilitation and a few construction works? In 2025 alone, a total sum of N125.79m was paid for the same purpose. This is aside from other allocations made to the institution for different needs. With an average of four students to a room in many cases, students and other stakehoders deserve to know: 🏠 Which hostels were rehabilitated? 🏠 What exact work was done? 🏠 Which contractors received these funds? 🏠 Were the projects completed to standard? 🏠 Why are accommodation pressures still common? Public education funds must translate into decent living conditions, safe hostels, and better welfare for students. We are publishing the list below so stakeholders can see who got what and for what purpose. If Nigeria must work, public institutions must answer questions and public money must show results. #publicfundsmustworkforthegoodofthepeople

Look at the UNN male hostel Mr. Agha Egwu Inya (UNN PRO) said it's clean. He further said that i'm demarketing my alma mater. He said students are the ones that brings the bed bugs to the school. Our students can't continue to live in this mess anymore. It must stop!

INVESTIGATION: Repackaged expired products dominate Nigeria's N34trn food market Food items meant to be sold in sealed packs are now being scooped from buckets and sacks in many Lagos markets. A BusinessDay investigation found that some of these products originate from expired, near-expiry, or rejected factory stocks, stripped of their labels and resold cheaply to consumers. This billion-naira underground trade continues to thrive across Nigerian markets, raising concerns about food safety and public health. Full report: businessday.ng/investigation/…

In crisis comms, you’re not just managing information but you’re managing trust over time. And trust tends to follow this rule: People forgive mistakes more easily than they forgive dishonesty. But when truth is established for those who amplified or misjudged it what happens?

WITHDRAWAL OF LAGOS STATE ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION AND SPECIAL OFFENCES UNIT (TASKFORCE) FROM TRAFFIC CONTROL DUTIES The Lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, has directed the immediate and complete withdrawal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) from traffic control and traffic contravention enforcement across the State. 🗣️Dear Nigerians, In case you haven’t seen this yet…👇🏽 Nigeria hasn’t conducted a credible population census since 2006. That means for almost 20 years, decisions about school, hospitals, and resource allocation have been based on estimates. Now, the interesting part is, between 2022 and 2023, N129.5 billion was disbursed for the 2023 population census. And that money went into: 📌 N118.38 billion for Personal Digital Assistants 📌 N2.47 billion for Hilux vehicles 📌 N499.8 million for power banks 📌 N106.19 million for an e-recruitment portal @TrackaNG wrote to the National Population Commission requesting full details under the Freedom of Information Act. The law requires a response within 7 days. It’s been over 3 weeks, no response. So we’re asking: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MONEY? Public funds demand public accountability!! #GetInvolved #AskQuestions

INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT RE: REVISED TIMETABLE AND SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTION At the meeting of the Commission with the Political Parties on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, concerns were raised on the timeline for the submission of Political Parties’ Registers of Members under the Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Election, which was originally fixed for 1st April 2026 to 21st April 2026. The Commission, at the said meeting, agreed to adjust the period for the submission of the Political Parties’ Registers of Members to align the 21 days prescribed by Section 77(4) of the Electoral Act, 2026, with the actual dates fixed by political parties themselves. Political parties are accordingly informed that they are free to fix the dates of their primaries within the approved period from the 23rd of April 2026 to the 30th of May 2026. It is imperative that parties adhere to this timeline to ensure a smooth electoral process. The register of party members must be submitted to INEC not later than 21 days before the holding of their respective primaries. This means that the final deadline for the submission of political parties’ registers of members is extended to 10th May 2026, from the 21st April 2026 originally contained in the revised Timetable. Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner and Chairman,Information and Voter Education Committee. Friday, 27th March, 2026.

Mof releases PFM Compliance League Table. The Ministry of Finance has developed a Public Financial Management (PFM) Compliance League Table, a landmark transparency and accountability initiative aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline and improving the management of public resources. The PFM Compliance League Table fulfills the Government’s commitment in the 2025 Budget Statement to publish an objective, evidence-based assessment of how public institutions comply with the PFM Act, 2016 (Act 921), its Regulations and associated laws. The League Table serves as a performance benchmarking tool that measures the extent to which public institutions adhere to the rules and procedures governing the use of public funds. By constructively ranking institutions based on their level of compliance, the Ministry seeks to deepen transparency, promote accountability, and encourage continuous improvement across the public sector in the management and use of public resources. The League Table highlights institutions with significant compliance gaps, underscoring the need for targeted corrective actions and stronger enforcement measures. In line with its statutory mandate, the Ministry of Finance, through the PFM Compliance Division, will take firm steps to address persistent non-compliance going forward. The Ministry will engage Covered entities that recorded low compliance scores and help them to identify gaps in their PFM compliance systems. Below is the ranking of the selected covered entities
