1. Men have been communicating with God in prayer before the outpouring of the Spirit. Christ didn't need to die for man to be able to pray. When he taught them prayers, he didn't say they could only say those prayers after he had died. Unless you assume that long prayer stretch sessions are impossible without tongues (which is false). This hasty direction of thought and other comments struggling to attack a strawman only buttresses the point I'm making that people have falsely attributed the potency of prayer to some metrics that are purely unnecessary (and sometimes even unbiblical) for effective Christian practice.

Jesus never held any public prayer stretch sessions. All the time he spent with the multitude, he only taught. I'm just observing.
