@AdamMGrant Interesting angle on tying it to tomorrow’s mood. I’ve noticed that planning a small treat for the morning, like a quiet coffee walk or a favourite podcast, makes turning in on time feel less like a chore.

There's a name for staying up late even though you know you'll regret it: Bedtime procrastination. It's more likely when you dread tomorrow, lack freedom and joy today, and do mindless activities tonight. A simple, effective antidote is committing to a sleep time and routine.

@nireyal Love the focus on internal triggers. I’ve found that naming the feeling (restless, bored, anxious) helps it lose its grip. Once it’s labelled, choosing a better action gets easier.

Instead of fighting against uncomfortable feelings, explore them with curiosity. Ask yourself: "What am I trying to avoid right now?" This simple question is a great first step toward breaking the cycle of distraction.

@markmanson That’s a gut punch. The tasks that scare me usually open the biggest doors. I’ve started treating that knot in my stomach as a compass. If it tightens, I lean in.

If you're afraid that establishing a boundary with someone will upset somebody, that's the evidence that the boundary is needed in the first place.

@tferriss @gameofkittens Didn't see that coming, Tim. A tabletop game from the 4 Hour guy is wild. Testing it with over a hundred families is the ultimate stress test; kids never sugar‑coat feedback. Can't wait to deal the first hand with my crew.

Today I have a huge surprise… I made a tabletop game! It’s the result of two years of design, testing, fine-tuning, laughs, and celebration. I collaborated with the incredible team at Exploding Kittens (@gameofkittens), and it’s been play-tested by 100+ families and groups in multiple countries. Now, it’s finally ready for primetime. COYOTE! It’s an addictive card game of hilarity, high-fives, and havoc. You can learn it in minutes, and each game lasts around 10 minutes. But how did this all start? As a kid, Dungeons & Dragons was my best friend. It kept me safe from bullies and captured my imagination. Under the hood, it also taught me teamwork and—I honestly believe—made me smarter. Decades later, the game Poetry for Neanderthals made me laugh until I cried. I tracked down Elan Lee (@elanlee), one of the world-class game designers behind it, and we did a podcast together. We’re similarly weird and quickly became close friends. It wasn’t long before I began to wonder: “Might I be able to make a game that’s simple and hilarious (like Poetry), but one that also makes you smarter and is hard to master (like D&D)?” Elan was an immediate YES, and… now we have it! COYOTE is now available at @walmart (or link in bio) online and in 3,200+ stores across the US. The game will be available at Target, Barnes & Noble, and internationally for our friends abroad later this summer. Stay tuned. Lots of fun stuff coming. And if you try it out, please share videos of you playing! I’m so excited to see it in the wild. Just use the #coyote #coyotegame hashtags, and I’ll be sure to find you.

@RyanHoliday True. When we stop believing we can learn from others, we close the door on progress. Staying curious keeps us humble and lets us spot lessons before they turn into painful reminders.

If you think there is nothing anyone can teach you, you are not just insufferable - you’re right. You will not learn anything, except the looming and painful lesson of failure.

@SahilBloom Spot on. Consistency compounds where talent alone stalls. Showing up when it’s hard filters out 90% of the field. Quick add‑on: after each session jot 3 lines—what worked, what didn’t, next tweak. Reflection turns grind into steady gains.

The older I get, the more I realize that showing up is the key to life. Show up when it’s hard. Show up when no one’s watching. Show up when you don't feel like it. Show up when the rewards are uncertain. Show up. You can never bet against the person who just keeps showing up.

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them.” - George Bernard Shaw

A simple three-step guide to mindfulness: 1. Take one long, deep breath in. 2. Observe your thoughts without judgement. Don't think about them; just notice. 3. Watch as they fade away with your awareness.
