@joequant Agreed, any European will tell you that Germany was doomed by austerity, underinvestment, overregulation, and a lack of accessible financing. Does anyone disagree with this? They made their bed and now they cry and blame the decisions of others instead of sleeping in it

Ever read Harrison Bergeron or Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged? China is dominating manufacturing because the Chinese govt made very good decisions and the German govt made bad decisions. You are trying to get China to blow up its economy to fix German incompetence.

@BretDevereaux Pope's translation was not well-received either upon release. I appreciate that someone tried something new, time will tell what comes of it. As an aside I've never been a fan of the Fagles, I find it particularly jarring and unpleasant despite the praise.

@cremieuxrecueil Jordan is still active in defending his reputation on Wikipedia as I write this, insisting that the page reflects all his denials. I'm sure we will get more interesting facts. For example, Jordan does think his paper is scientifically controversial:

@cremieuxrecueil Few other things: Jordan also says he is not an "Independent Researcher" as he is "affiliated with an institution", but he does not name the institution. Jordan wants his page to reflect that Mamdani pretended to be Black.
