Why would McSweeney not tell the police he was Starmer’s Chief of Staff when reporting his phone had been stolen? All he said was that it was a “government phone” and didn’t identify his important job. Perhaps he didn’t want the police to try too hard. We now know all this as highly unusually Scotland Yard has issued the log over the crime because they too are puzzled at McSweeney not using his position to try and get his phone back. Further, he gave the wrong location for the robbery. Was that deliberate too? Very much in his and Starmer’s interest that the phone was never found as the WhatsApps messages between him and his mentor Mandelson might have forced Starmer from office. This is like the whole Labour government. It stinks.

Good to know for future reference that the Police say a repugnant artwork showing Jews eating babies is “not directly abusive or insulting to Jews” and has not reached the threshold to be considered either a hate crime or a non-crime hate incident.
