I understand now that EJ was doing everything he could to help Divine. But that raises even more questions.
If Divine was already unconscious at around 2:40PM, why was he only recovered from the water at around 3:45PM after rescuers had arrived? That's over an hour later. ++

Kung may AED sana, kaso nasa gobyerno ka ng pilipinas, mamatay ka sa kakulangan ng kagamitan!

What I got from Sam Reyes and Kieffer Alas’ interview: - It was not an initiation rite. - They were doing an exercise in thigh-deep water when the waves suddenly became stronger. - CPR was being performed on Rene before a medic stopped it so he could be brought to the ambulance. - Divine still had a pulse when he was recovered but was taken to the hospital in a police vehicle. - No one aside from Rene and Divine was in critical condition, contrary to some early reports. - No ankle weights were used. - No gag order, but they were advised not to speak publicly (except to family). - They’ve been receiving death threats. - They believe the backlash has been worsened by the lack of information released publicly by Ateneo. - They waited to speak because it was difficult emotionally and because they were expecting the fact-finding process. - They said they still haven’t been interviewed for the investigation. - Right now, they’re focused on recovering mentally before returning to basketball.
