@molaning I think what happened was they tried to test the waters on how people would accept a boy with animal features with Gorou, and he wasn't the big pull they hoped, so the dropped the idea.

@ranyuoin Nope, just fodder for other artifacts, but you need that, too, so it's ok. Now if the RNG in the game itself was better...

In every single country that passed age verification laws: 1) databases got leaked 2) innocent websites got censored 3) governments became more censorship heavy 4) protests became more criminalized 5) information got harder to find

taking down piracy sites is playing whack a mole. you're never going to win what beats piracy, as demonstrated 15 years ago, is making legal consumption easy, cheap, and safe. Netflix and Prime was killing piracy then they split up content and jacked up prices and it's back
Kirby 🏴‍☠️@comicskirby

You know what would cut down on piracy? Making books widely accessible globally & reducing the cost. Taking down piracy sites will only increase traffic towards other sites.

@chakravartiiin Rage bait lie. The US is celebrating its 250-year anniversary. Photography was invented about 120 years ago. European settlers came long before that time. The ones who cut down those trees were Americans.

The tree in the picture is a giant sequoia tree that was there before Jesus was born, it was older than the Roman Empire. Before the criminal settler orcs from Europe arrived the old growth had trees that were 300 feet tall and 35 feet wide. Most of them were 2000-3000 years old. After california gold rush the greedy logging companies started to cut down these trees. Each tree would cause a little earthquake when it fell. About 95% of these majestic trees were lost. The funny part? The sequoia tree wood was quite brittle and a huge portion of it was wasted by loggers. Most of it shattered on impact or were burned by loggers. The crimes of European settlers their destruction of nature is not talked about enough

We really shouldn’t have cut down all the giant old growth trees. What a loss.

This is fucking monopolistic behavior and should be fucking illegal
International Cyber Digest@IntCyberDigest

‼️🚨 ALARMING: Google now treats privacy as suspicious behavior by default. Users of GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, /e/OS, and other deGoogled Android phones are being locked out of millions of websites unless they install the exact Google Play Services software they deliberately removed. GrapheneOS is recommended by the EFF and used by journalists, lawyers, and activists in high-risk environments. The audience most likely to read Google's data practices and refuse its terms is now flagged as fraudulent for that exact decision. What happened?: ▪️ Google announced "Cloud Fraud Defense" at Cloud Next on April 22-23, 2026, branding it "the next evolution of reCAPTCHA." Existing reCAPTCHA customers were auto-migrated. ▪️ When the system flags traffic as suspicious, the old click-the-bus puzzle is gone. Users get a QR code instead. ▪️ Scanning the QR code requires Google Play Services running on the device. Internet Archive snapshots show this requirement has been live since at least October 2025, silently rolled out for 7 months before anyone noticed. ▪️ No Play Services = no QR scan = locked out. The bigger picture: ▪️ Google already tried this in 2023. It was called Web Environment Integrity (WEI), and it would have let Google decide which devices were "real enough" to access the web. Standards bodies and the public pushed back hard, and Google killed it. Three years later, the same idea is back, just hidden behind a QR code instead of a browser feature. ▪️ reCAPTCHA runs on millions of websites. Every developer who keeps using it is now, by default, telling deGoogled Android users they're not welcome...

The video game industry is lobbying against Stop Killing Games California is considering a new law called AB 1921, also known as the Protect Our Games Act. If passed, the bill would apply to paid digital games sold after January 1, 2027. It requires that if a company shuts down the online services needed to play the game normally, it must give players 60 days' notice and either release a patch so the game can still be played or offer buyers a full refund. The bill does not require companies to keep servers running forever. It simply prevents them from making a game unplayable without warning or a solution for those who already paid for it. The Entertainment Software Association, the main group representing video game companies in the United States, is lobbying against the bill. Their arguments are basically the usual ones: >games are licensed, not owned >online services are complicated >third-party licenses expire >security risks exist >this could be hard or expensive to enforce Supporters of the bill, including the Stop Killing Games campaign, say this is basic customer protection because when you buy a game, it should not suddenly stop working with no remedy. The bill gives companies clear options and applies only to future games. A hearing is scheduled for this Thursday in the California Assembly Appropriations Committee. If you are part of an organization in the United States, especially in California, you can submit a letter of support to the committee. This is an important step for better rights for players who buy digital games.
