Ireland has the most democratic election system in the world. The far-right have never & will never get enough votes to be a serious political threat here.
Even those who protested won't vote for them because Irish people are inherently decent & caring & shun hate
@murph17398 The majority of political parties are centrist or center left because it represents the political beliefs of the Irish people.
There's no big right wing or far-right party because Irish people don't want one.
@Independent_ie Has Mary not heard how Ireland is awash with tax euros from the multinationals? OK so we might have to forego the odd bike shed but I can live with that.

Garda Gillian O'Donoghue based in Killarney & husband Paul posted a disgusting video attacking Irish protesters
They (mostly her) said:
"Spastics with their Irish flags can shove it up their holes"
"Absolute wankers"
"They can all go fuck themselves, showers of pricks"
@ForWesternkind@thejournal_ie It costs considerable amounts of money and resources to grow the population of a country with such speed. Is it racist to be concerned? Asking for a friend!
@thejournal_ie Any opposition to immigration into Ireland is framed by the likes of the journal as “anti-immigrant” and “racist”. The logic of this is that the only way Irish people can avoid antiwhite slurs is by accepting the total erasure and dispossession of the Irish people.
While many protesters in Ireland are complaining about fuel costs, far-right actors and international figures are using the movement to push anti-immigrant narratives.

@vortexEire@thejournal_ie A swing too far to the left will result in a subsequent bounce back towards the right which will take disgruntled citizens with it. That's always the concern.
@thejournal_ie The scumbags from the far right hijacked the protests alright, plenty of video evidence.
The farmers in Ireland and hard working people and don't want to be associated with those criminals and rapist right wingers who tried to use it to shout about their racist agenda.

@_QueenMeabh@rtenews Ah Queen, this protest is like the water protest! The protest won, but the consequences are self evident to this day, a disaster for the Irish State! Army now required!
⛽🚫 Blocking ports, fuel depots and public transport is not the way to make your point. We understand the pressures people are under - and we've responded with the most significant support package in Europe. 🇪🇺 I'm asking protesters to de-escalate now. 🙏
The blocking of the distribution of fuel is a sinister and despicable attack on our economy and our society. This is not a lawless country. The laws of the land must and will be applied without fear.
@thejournal_ie lovely new social estate ruined when one antisocial tenant housed there. Now evicted only but will be rehoused next door to some other unsuspecting residents I guess.

@thejournal_ie Irish Government is culpable for this young man being murdered by this Somalian.
They are also culpable for every attack, rape or murder carried out by an illegal and legal immigrant as they granted them to enter Ireland.
The State is still trying to determine the age of a Somali national accused of murdering Ukrainian teenager Vadym Davydenko at a care facility last year, a court has heard.
