@libsoftiktok She's a senator in Ireland, but shes not an "Irish" senator. She's an irish traveller who reject all aspects of Irish life, so hates the flag as a result. Shes only pushing this shit to push her own agenda.

@ColetteColfer As a gay person, why tf do I need a bespoke Union seperate from everyone else? How is treating me like a child who needs to be coddled/infantalized because of how I was born equality?

@visegrad24 So Meloni all this time makes annoying faces at Macron when they meet but now she is 1000% aligned with him. Ok makes total sense.

@visegrad24 Meloni is literally the only one of you worthy of respect. The rest have individually ruined their own countries and made the EU even weaker to threats and economic decay.

Restoring full and permanent freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is an urgent, shared priority. At the VTC convened by @EmmanuelMacron and @Keir_Starmer, I stressed the EU’s role: • Share satellite data via @EMSA_EU • Reinforce Operation Aspides • Work closely with Middle East and Gulf partners to strengthen our partnerships. Including on connectivity, which can take the stress out of the Strait.

@fgh_vnj @TomOHanlon17 @CorkGourmetGuy Where did the legislation mention women would use it as a form of birth control, and the fact many babies would be born alive and left to die on on operating table without even the dignity of palliative care? Most people voted yes to allow it when medically necessary ONLY.

@TomOHanlon17 @CorkGourmetGuy @murph17398 Almost as if there was a giant vote in the country 8 years ago where people let it be known what stance on the matter they preferred from the government, and guess who won ya numpty

Ireland has the most democratic election system in the world. The far-right have never & will never get enough votes to be a serious political threat here. Even those who protested won't vote for them because Irish people are inherently decent & caring & shun hate

@Upsy_Daisy666 @CorkGourmetGuy I'm sick of the narrative that its far right/inhumane to believe women don't have the right to abort babies on demand as a form of birth control because you value the rights of the unborn. The vast majority of right wing people accept it when medically neccesary. Thats enough.

@CorkGourmetGuy Like you give a shit about female autonomy The left pushes the influx of sharia law and those who see women as inferior for the sake of cheap labour. Many have raped/murdered irish women and dont get screened Where's the autonomy in shaming women who want female only bathrooms?

@murph17398 A party that opposes a woman's right to autonomy over her own body and is against same sex marriage is centrist? I'd fucking hate to see your idea of far-right, I'm guessing it involves stoning people and locking women in stocks if adjudged to having loose morals!

@traktorius11 @eeldenden With majority voting, other countries get to decide how others govern even if they specifically dont want it ot its bad for their respective economy. As that directly impacts national sovereignty, it'll legally have to go to referendum in Ireland.

@murph17398 @eeldenden Yeah I'm not denying that treaty changes sometimes require referendums (I just mentioned that it's not always necessary in all countries). I think there was even one time when Ireland rejected something. My main point was that I don't think this is talking about a treaty change.

@murph17398 @eeldenden I don't think this is talking about treaty change and/or change in how the council and the parliament works? At least I don't see that. Even then weater treaty change requires referendum or only ratification by national parliament really depends on each country.

@traktorius11 @eeldenden Surely it would be if it changes how European citizens are represented by their electes govenment in the EU parliament? Chasing the voting system is a huge change, not one originally agreed upon on membership. It changes too much to be left to MEPs

@TheEuropeansHQ Nationalism is what saved Ireland from colonisation and allowed Irish people to run yheir own country. Pretending its inherently negative or anti EU by default is politically illiterate

In the most nationalist era since the 1930s, Europeans keep choosing Europe: support for the euro at record highs. Opposition to EU membership taboo even on the extremes. Not because Brussels is perfect (it's not); because when it counts, we know we are stronger together. Turns out Europeans actually feel European. Who knew. ft.com/content/927ef2…

@Richard74565596 @CorkGourmetGuy As i just said, a partys leaning is literally determined by their policies, not their history. All of our main parties have changed over the years, if you knew ANYTHING about Irish politics you'd know that. It doesnt matter what example I use, my point remains the same.

@murph17398 @CorkGourmetGuy History of these parties is irrelevant because ... its very easy to verify and directly disagrees with my current statement. I will now talk about American politics because I know more about America than my own country.
