8.5 proven superstar athletes in Minnesota, probably the most at any time in state history:
Wild: Kaprizov, Boldy, Hughes
Wolves: Edwards, Gobert, McDaniels?
Vikings: Jefferson
Twins: Buxton
Lynx: Collier
my takeaway from Stars/Wild: not that much to takeaway honestly. we knew this was two of the top teams. teams were basically even at 5-on-5.
Dallas had a 51% shot share, 53% xgoal share, and 22% goal share. they shot 3% at 5-on-5. that's the way it goes sometimes
@mikelundgren@PaulCharchian 2017 Vikings went 13-3. 2024 Vikings went 14-3. 2017 Wild were 2nd in the west. How can you say these teams didn’t have a “legitimate chance” at a title?
@PaulCharchian Honestly, there have only been 3 Minnesota teams since 1991 with a legitimate chance at a Title. The 1998 Vikings, 2009 Vikings and 2006 Twins. The 2026 Wild or Wolves are not on that list. Fun night though!
@minnStockBets@johnkriesel Lol you are a great example of why I can't stand the majority of Minnesotans. Freaking enjoy it for one night ffs, you hot dish, Grey duck weirdo
@grantgaither@johnkriesel I’d argue any Vikings playoff win or any of twins World Series wins are bigger. But since 1991 It’s in the conversation, which is absolutely pathetic.
Solid first period for the Wild, although Dallas has to love that it's only one. Could have been worse the way Minnesota controlled the period.
Nick Foligno got hurt on a check by Alex Petrovic with 90 seconds left, but he stayed on the bench and seemed like he shook it off
@HazelAppleyard If you just plopped the million into an index fund, you’d have like 7 million in 20 years - you couldn’t do that with pushups you’d have to do like 900+ a day for 20 years to hit that number.
Say you take the top team in state for a given year. Say Edina, Tonka, Moorhead, you give them a top tier NHL playoff goalie.
What’s the score if they play a NHL team? Need to know what you guys think…
Both teams can’t give up if they’re winning or losing by too much.
@ZachHalverson@Braylon_Breeze Ducks/Oilers series may or may not need a game 6 and play Thursday night as well. I’m thinking Wild might get bumped up to 6 if so?
@DanMyers@patmick2626 Keep em both. Helps both goalies a ton to be able to lean on eachother and have your 1 play 45-50 games and your backup still get 35-30. Unless you somehow get a 1C for Gus idk why you’d move either
@patmick2626 I mean, if you want to materially improve this team this summer, you have to move one. But you’re right, you don’t HAVE TO do anything, I suppose.
No matter what happens the rest of the way, Bill Guerin has one fascinating decision to make this summer RE: the future of the #mnwild crease.
Tough to trade Wallstedt after watching him elevate his game to a whole other level this playoff series.
