The Timberwolves disrespect I see all over my timeline is crazy They just went to back-to-back WCF and have a top-5 player in the world that is rested after sitting out with an injury the last few weeks. So why is everyone acting like Denver is already into RD2?

@KFANRosen I guess if you think Ant is only playing 28 minutes a game then sure. But I don’t think so

In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice. KURT VONNEGUT (who left us 19yrs ago today) was the only one to respond. His reply was a doozy.

@allthingsmn It’s always “we’re too deep” or other teams only do that because they have to (injuries). Finch has Thibs tendencies

I get a ton of replies clamoring for him to get fired whenever I post something critical of Finch and I want to be clear that I’m not at that point…I’d only endorse moving on with a guarantee that a blue chipper was coming into replace him or it is clear he’s lost the locker room. This is simply my biggest grievance with him and it drives me crazy that folks will defend this regime’s track record with draftees and say “there wasn’t opportunity to get those guys on the court here because this team is so deep” when there are obvious opportunities like the one tonight to give them (players critical to the future success of the organization) an opportunity to play. Also: It’s really fun for the fans to see them out there!
All Things MN@allthingsmn

Finch had the perfect runway to get the young guys some run after the vets got their confidence boost and he still chooses to run them out there until the last 5 mins on the front end of a back to back. Of all gripes folks have about him, this is the shit Finch does that I despise.

@KyleTheige Yeah I noticed that. Wolves are not that bad. But flipping the switch is tough when key guys are hurt and we lack any momentum

@JakePaynting Smart teams rest players so they don’t hobble into the playoffs ground into dust. Ant, Naz, Donte all need some time off

Ant is very clearly still injured. Can barely move, hobbling everywhere, no lift on his jumpers. Why is he playing?

Minnesota just had a franchise point guard fall to their lap. Ayo Dosunmu is one of the biggest deadline steals we’ve seen in recent years

Bones or Ayo need to be in the starting lineup.. idc which one anymore Ant and Randle's minutes need to be more staggered instead of stacked - allowing a top shot creator on our roster to always be on the court We need to somehow play with this flow and energy a lot more!

You have to get the message straight to Anthony Edwards. You have to play with your teammates. Isolation basketball isn’t going to get you the win in this one.

@TimGarrisonMN I agree with what you’re saying. But I still believe there’s a pattern of not giving young talent meaningful chances to play tag other winning teams have to done , which greatly benefits their depth AND affords the ability to rest players more often

@TimGarrisonMN they can have injuries, give meaningful minutes to developing players, AND have a better record than us? Do teams only play 8 deep bc they’re healthy? Are we too good to develop another Ajay Mitchell or Peyton Watson?

I’m a huge Joan believer. But this complaining about his minutes needs to stop. He is a project player and this has only been a discussion because he’s proven to be ahead of schedule. That’s phenomenal. He’s not getting rotation minutes because the Timberwolves play 3 bigs large minutes. Look across the league, you’ll find there aren’t many teams that have 4 bigs that play. His role right now is depth center. With Kyle Anderson on board he’s even more removed from potential minutes. That said, Kyle Anderson is the reason why we’re comfortable sending him down to the G-League for reps, as we now have some insurance at the forward spot. He’s got a lot to work on, most notably defending without fouling. He’s going to play a big role in the coming years but right now it’s about getting him stronger, more comfortable, and more in game reps.
SleeperTimberwolves@SleeperTWolves

I honestly don’t know why he’s not getting rotational minutes right now. Especially with how bad the defense has been lately.

@TimGarrisonMN Yeah that is a valid point of view. I would argue that other contenders like OKC, DEN, BOS all find playing time for young talent

Needs to stop might be dramatic, but him getting regular minutes isn’t in the cards this year due to the construction of the team. I also get fatigued over the rookies don’t play dialogue, especially when you see how some of them have played with other organizations. I think Beringer’s only path to consistent minutes is an injury to Naz, Rudy, or Randle. There’s a process for Berigner, and he’s tracking beautifully. I was really high on Joan coming into draft day, but the fact that he’s played well in actual minutes this year is far ahead of where I thought. I expect the team to make a few changes this summer; and I expect Beringer to have a role moving forward.
