Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan confirms that his Department owns dozens of residential houses for accommodating asylum seekers, but says these were previously bought under Roderic O'Gorman's Department of Integration, and that "I don't have any intention of procuring more".

You can come to Ireland from a safe country, make a bogus asylum claim, and the department of justice has purchased private homes you may get to live in at the expense of Irish people who are likely struggling to afford a home. Great.

A quick look at planning lists and Section 5 Exemptions shows that they are acquiring scores of houses in clusters in estates and towns.
