Steam, scenery and splendid double arrows. Last week we took Rheidol Railway №9 (light engine) up the line after its successful steam test, bringing British Rail blue back to the valley for the first time in forty-odd years. Here’s Ted, Tom & Tim, chuffed to be on the footplate.

Is it me or is that a Yorkshire Pudding on a full English breakfast? What’s going on?

A set of @accurascale 21T wagons have been through the workbench recently. Brake gear is the bane of my life in conversions - always in the way - but happily here we’re are provided with a set that can be swapped out along with the wheels, for a fairly simple project @EMGauge

@lawrenceofthe I joined in the 80s, and have learnt much of what I know by getting involved in a variety of club layouts and projects with the support and encourage of members. My son has ‘graduated’ through Young MRC and is now one of around 20 Junior members.

I joined in 2015. Since then I've learn carpentry, AV skills and appeared on TV. It's amazing what being a club member can lead to.

Time to crack on with some flat bottom rail track building for the next layout. Staring this one at home, but will be working on it at the Doncaster exhibition in just 4 weeks - you’ll find my demo stand on the first floor next to MERG. #emgauge #emgauge70s @EMGauge @BRMmagazine

This should make fault finding easier and deal with an occasional ‘lock up’ in the old relays rescued from a previous layout that could happen when the switches on the panel were changed too fast. The racket is the Cobalt motors - Tortoises don’t quite fit under the board 2/2

From this….. to this. Some holiday rewiring on Minories, replacing the below baseboard relays that switch the power to the rails and interlock the points on the double junction to avoid conflicts with new ones that are above the boards. 1/2
