@Simon_Whitten @helenstaniland A male accessing spaces where women and children are in states of undress IS inappropriate behaviour. We teach our daughters to be wary of men like that for good reason. Do not take away our power to challenge men in our spaces.

Kemi Badenoch went on Nick Robinson’s show to discuss the national emergency facing Britain’s Jews. Robinson wanted to drag it into Tommy Robinson instead. It was pure whataboutery from the BBC, and in doing so, he proved Kemi’s point.

I've done many parkruns. As an elite athlete, club runner, while pregnant, pushing a buggy, pregnant AND pushing a buggy, and accompanying my son. No performance was more valid than any other. All deserved a fair result in a female category excluding men. #makeparkrunfairforall

New Oxford University study on BBC reporting of 'transgender' people: Since 2000 in the UK • 11 were murdered (mostly killed by their male partners). This generated 137 news stories • 20 committed murder. This generated just 58 news stories, of which only 23 mentioned trans

@queenlupusmaia @JMikeStubbs You can see from the video he wasn't incapacitated. When he is lifted slightly he lashes out with the knife again that he was holding under his chest. The officers were in extreme danger, unarmed against an armed man who was stabbing people, possibly with a bomb on him.

@JMikeStubbs He was tazed. Incapacitated. Kicking someone in the head does not get a knife out of a tazered person's hands. No matter how often you do it.

I can't get my head around the commisioner of the police thinking his officers kicking someone in the head repeatedly is an appropriate level of policing for someone who is tazed and on the ground. He & his officers are meant to represent the law. What they did is assault.

A male university lecturer wearing giant prosthetic breasts & barely-there tops is v clearly engaging in an inappropriate public display of his sexual fetish and it's *nuts* some people are gullible enough to think this makes him part of an unchallengeable oppressed minority.

Apparently today is the day that a lot of people are learning that the law absolutely allows police officers (and, indeed, members of the public) to kick people in the head when faced with a potentially lethal threat such as a person actively stabbing people.

@LBC I wasn't even given a paracetamol. I had to stop at a pharmacy on my way home from the hospital, where the lovely pharmacist gave me a cuddle. The only kind person I'd seen all day.

Excellent thread. My only point of disagreement is that I feel rather more confident than Akua that wearing giant prosthetic breasts at work (or indeed anywhere else) is "conduct of a sexual nature." I honestly can't think what on earth it would be.

Pretty sure if a violent offender is not dropping their weapon the Police are entitled to use force to make them drop it. I'm glad to see the Met. defending their officers actions here. Someone very close to me is a Police officer, one of the toughest jobs there is.
Metropolitan Police@metpoliceuk

Our brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.

Hearing about the tiny differences made by the technology of running shoes in the marathon, and in the snooker the disadvantage caused by *checks notes* the 'residue of chalk on the cue ball'. But still people argue there is no sports advantage in males over females. 🤔
