You can say anything about Muslims but they are undeniably loyal to their religion. They pray five times a day while the average Hindu visits a temple mainly in times of trouble. Muslims neither mock their faith nor tolerate others doing so. I respect that quality 👏🏻

@mirnazim @zoemalyks_chai Yes, I think the core question is - Is Friday whatever day the majority decide Friday is or is Friday the seventh day after previous Friday.
In the proposal of International Fixed Calendar, the Friday after New Year would be eight days after the previous friday generally

Maybe the way she asked it was wrong but if you study history of calendars, this is an important question.
We have skipped dates before (October 1582) but never days, so Friday is still accurate.
Things would be pretty different if International Fixed Calendar was adopted.

I have a question. If the Gregorian calendar isn't real, why do Muslims pray jummah and recite surah kahf on Friday? Why is Friday night considered so blessed in Islam? Is there a different Friday in the Islamic calendar? What am I missing here?

@zoemalyks_chai @HAliPunjabi Even if days of the week were/are skipped it’s still not problem. Friday really being Friday is not the point. It’s not that the day itself is blessed; Muslims across the world united in acts of worship that makes it blessed.

@yawaramin @aramh MD can’t scale up though. E.g, heading limited to 6. No concept of a timestamp or an actionable item, no cross linking. No concept attachments, can’t add notes to an item, and so much more. You gotta come up with your own conventions for those.

@yawaramin @aramh You need emacs to run org-mode the software. Org markup is useful on its own editable in any plain text editor.
