@Alcoholic__fox @apacifish @lectrvera @iheartguap Provide a safe space for them in your own home, then. If you run a venue and a 17 year old gets in and leaves in an ambulance you can’t blame it on your of-age patrons for failing to approach anyone who “looks underage” and babysitting them.
English

@apacifish @lectrvera @iheartguap Cause being around drugs =\= as selling and giving it to them
Those kids will get their hands on whatever drug they will give them, if U don't wanna be part of the people educating them that's on U
Those kids won't listen or be protected if they're outside the venue
English

@Wifesucker I guess this is what Alex Jones was talking about when he said like a decade ago that he had proof that chimeras were real because he saw a fish with “sad human eyes”
English

i used to buy oxy from a guy that had a fish tank.
idk how else to say it but one of the fishes had a human face. it was a flat fish with a human face and i will never forget it
Chief Keith@pangaeafan
drug dealers used to always have some wild ass biology in their house. you’d go over to buy a gram of weed and a cat would be giving birth in the corner
English

@emsenigma @fawnmeats The tweet itself was about the fact that there’s a distinction between the two and how the “new” definition has rendered the original as an umbrella term to include anybody seeking to vent. Shelving would mean “let’s put this term to rest until the two are distinct again”
English

@misgenre @fawnmeats Yeah, that’s why I made my comment to point out that there is a difference between the two

"trauma dump" is going up on the shelf where we put words the internet shouldn't be allowed to have anymore. Your FRIEND is telling you about their LIFE and you should LISTEN even if it's a LITTLE BIT UNCOMFORTABLE
Dr. Amy, Psy.D.@DrAmyPsyD
Someone who “trauma dumps” is not a bad person.
English

@ahoeincognito @notpopbase I’m seeing way too many people saying “well she did relapse by taking a pill” as if she deserved to die??? The US government used to actively poison alcohol during prohibition “because it was illegal to consume” and I’m starting to think that Gen Z will bring that back
English

@notpopbase i think what’s more devastating is that ppl will think rue OD by relapsing bc of her addiction AND not because of an evil man who laced it, intending to kill her. thats the real truth, it wasnt by her own accord. he wanted her dead! 😭
English

@emsenigma @fawnmeats I think the post is referring to how many people call ALL venting “trauma dumping” similarly to how “trauma bonding” went from shared experience to mutual venting over similar trauma. Words lose their meanings at some point and you can’t restore them back to their definition.
English

@fawnmeats There’s a huge difference between trauma dumping and venting, and it’s consent. Talking about traumatic things unprecedented/unannounced is not something you should do.
Venting however, the other person you’re talking to is aware you’re about to talk about some heavy stuff
English

@lurker________1 @coreyinbayern @mattlieb It polled better than “birthduty” and “birthresponsibility”

@BinaryBarkode @woke8yearold Mother sauce is a classification for the 5 sauces every chef needs to master in French cooking and they’re not all made with the same base. Ice cream base is just cream, milk, and sugar. They add artificial flavoring to call it vanilla but real vanilla extract is expensive.
English

@woke8yearold Vanilla is also somewhat unique in that it also makes a great base to add other flavors to.
It’s like the ice cream equivalent of a “mother sauce”.
English

Correct. Vanilla is considered a “default” flavor because it was so universally liked that everyone began using it. Ice cream used to come in all sorts of weird flavors

white people be like: vanilla actually isnt plain or boring its still an expensive and hard to produce spice

@brook_the_mommy I cut the handles off of all of the paper bags and reusable bags that my cat claims for himself for this reason precisely 👍 especially when I’m cat-sitting
English

@AllyFogg @nicclesb @JasonReidx One of the movie podcasts I listen to just made a joke about how once you’re a parent it’s impossible to undress your partner because you’ll say something like this without even thinking 😭
English

@nicclesb @JasonReidx When my kids were toddlers I had a full repertoire of bedtime PJ-time songs, like
“Get your socks off get your socks off honey”
and
“Hands up baby hands up. Gimme your shirt gimme gimme”
Maybe it’s like that?
English

@himevoshi @Bolshie_Boy I swear like half of us ended up with sorry cop because it was just “apologize ten times” and we all wanted to say insane shit but couldn’t follow through with the bit even in a game. It’s the most reflective but not nearly as scathing as “world’s most laughable centrist”
English

It rules how the game: (a) actively admonishes you via the 'sorry cop' & 'boring cop' Copotypes for going out of your way to avoid this, and (b) teaches you why/how to lean into it by showing you how those choices can provoke revealing, helpful responses from people

English

@iPad_Latino Not really related but my coworkers and I were talkin bout pets and one goes “oh lemme show u my rat” and I got so genuinely excited to see her pet rat and then she pulled out a picture of a small dog. It still hurts to think abt
