Let me take a moment before the primary to tell you *what I really think* about my Democratic opponent:
I think he's a good person, a good father, and has run a positive and honest campaign.
Why say this? Because the politics of phony anger is toxic. We all deserve better.
Hi, I’m just your friendly neighborhood psychologist continuing to ask why there isn’t a national licensure system, or at least better license mobility, for mental health professionals when the need for services is so high and access to care is so low?
Respectfully, after the last two years I think we’re beyond the “is anyone else having trouble concentrating with everything going on” phase and need to be asking why we’re upholding a culture that expects us to carry on business as usual
Rant 🧵.
I’ve been in non-stop calls with students. Guess what their #1 mental health concern is?

@MarisaKabas I call it “health privilege.” When you’ve never really experienced chronic or disabling conditions in your immediate family—and how it affects every aspect of your life—you think you’re invincible and that Covid will be 100% mild/temporary for you, too.
Thank you @PK_Knighthawks for the BEST baby shower for our sweet baby girl. I’m so lucky to work with such amazing people. I couldn’t ask for a better work family 💗
Norway spends about $30,000 per child on early childhood care. Finland spends $23,000. Germany, $18,000.
The U.S. spends $500 per child.
In other words, 1/60th of what Norway spends on its toddlers.
How do we expect to build a better future if we refuse to invest in our kids?
I am not for toxic positivity. I don’t believe that we should ever pretend that things are better than they are. But truthfully I work in a place that values children. And it makes all the difference.
More than 30,000 troops have died by suicide since 9/11.
40,000 veterans are unhoused on any given night.
This Veteran’s Day, let’s not just thank those who have served. Let’s commit to building a country where our veterans have the support they need to thrive.
