The coalition calling for a halving of the fuel excise is welcome news. We look forward to working with them to achieve One Nation's policy of a full removal of the excise with compensation for truckies and dealing with the GST on fuel. After 3 months, let's review how that's going but Australians need relief now. We also need to have an emergency declared under the Liquid Fuel Emergency Act 1984 so that we can force Big Oil to put supplies into the regions and stop the price gouging.

Our Fuel Supply Taskforce is up and running. Coordinator Anthea Harris is already monitoring supply and demand, and working with states and territories. We’ll keep working to keep fuel moving where it’s needed most. So we can act early and stay prepared.

Today, Prime Minister @LawrenceWongST of Singapore and I agreed to support the flow of essentials goods including petroleum oils, such as diesel, and liquified natural gas between our two countries. We'll keep working closely as we deal with the impacts of the conflict in the Middle East.

We’ve set up a new Fuel Supply Taskforce, led by Anthea Harris. Working with states and territories, the taskforce will make sure fuel gets where it’s needed most. It will bring together experts and industry to protect our fuel supply, and make sure we have the latest information on supply and demand.
