@sykesccttages We are now nearly two weeks down the line and there has been no effort to fix this. I spent my holiday money on an emergency hotel and now can’t buy my kids shoes for school. This will be the last comment I make before we drastically escalate.

@sykescottages we are currently stranded in a pub car park, hundreds of miles from home after our holiday was double booked leaving us nowhere to stay with three young kids and a dog. I am still waiting for someone to call me back this morning. This is an emergency.

@sykescottages This is a photo of my distraught son after we travelled all day to our cottage to find it had been double booked yesterday. I have had to pay for a hotel for the night. My husband has taken time off work. No one is calling me back-we need rehoused immediately

Why do I do this job?
For this. This is from one of my Y13s from last year who I taught since Y9. He’s currently travelling and sends me a postcard at from every location he visits.
The fact that he actively *wants* to do this, is something that on the “meh” days I treasure.

I don't know why it annoys me so much, but it does.
These holidays were NOT half-term! Half-term is a WEEK, in the middle of the term (clue is in the name!)

Today I am not having a good head day. Ever get those days where you feel less than, lonely af, useless at your job and everything you do, that you have zero value to anything, that you are just a raging disappointment?

@GeographyStrong My daughter has just started in Y7, and she says children walk out of lessons, back chat, scream, make farting noises... Her Chemistry experiment has been pushed back to the next lesson five times because of behaviour. I’m shocked! I really feel for you secondary teachers 😳😣

Totally dumped back on my behind from a great height today. Worst day of teaching I have experienced.
Behaviour from 11, 10, 9, and 7 was shocking.
I'm lost for words.
