@dailystem Have you ever seen one of these? It is called a Scrambled Egg slime mold (or also known as a Dog Vomit slime mold.) The yellow showed up over night. I took the 1st pic at 7:15 & the 2nd pic at 11:30. The color was so bright!

God was really showing out this afternoon on my walk. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” – Psalm 19:1

I loved reading Encyclopedia Brown books as a kid. And reading them to my own kids.

@dailystem @flyingmonkey13 My school nightmares always involve not knowing school has started for the year or not knowing they moved my room so I’m totally unprepared.

I always knew the “can’t get control of the classroom” teacher stress dreams were a thing… but apparently my brain has upgraded. Last night’s episode: “Wait… did I retire too soon?!” 😅 Even in my sleep, education lives rent-free.

It has been a long time since I posted. I am curious what educators are still around and willing to reply to a message (high bar I know) but how about starting with and easy question. What has been the best change you have made in your classroom this year?

I'll start, this year we switched to standards based grading and I have really enjoyed the standards our school choose for our department. I think they are powerful and recursive. I work on using them all weekly! It has been great!

@missmac100 That’s awesome! I have a similar one (it’s yellow) and I frequently walk into a classroom with it & get busy fixing things. You’ll appreciate the bag with handles portability!

Every year my grandma would buy me & my cousins tools at Christmas, & I’m continuing this tradition with my STEM class students. This year I found tool bags on sale to help them start their tool collection!

@missmac100 A shoebox is great! I have a small bin for all my small tools that work on electronics and 3-D printers and glasses and what not

@dailystem People always laugh at my shoebox, but it’s worked for me since I don’t have many tools.
