Before you panic about Trump’s 50% tariff on Indian exports, take a breath. This isn’t the time to micro-analyse company-by-company or sector-by-sector. At a 50% duty, virtually no Indian export to the US remains commercially viable. The question isn't about impact, it's about standoff ! Markets will react, as they do. The Nifty & the Rupee may fall 1% or so, but that's just the reaction function, not the final story. Trump has said that the new tariff will be effective from August 27. That is 20 days from now. I would say it is extremely unlikely that tariffs would stay at this level. This is a negotiation. A hard one, but still a negotiation. A lot can happen! A geopolitical breakthrough ?
