This baobabtree was just but a small seedling when we planted it at Ballantyne Park, Borrowdale in 2019. During our recent visit 5yrs later, we were happy to see it growing and thriving and it won't be long before it becomes a majestic landmark in the park.

Farai Kampira is a tree specialist with extensive expertise in airlyering,grafting and budding. With more than 20 yrs of planting trees and a thriving nursery, he has accumulated vast knowledge of indigenous trees and is responsible for the planting of them in and around Harare .

Happy Africa day!!!- This years theme "is Educate an African fit for the 21st century". As we are embracing this theme ,Let us also extend this "education" to include the importance of trees and the role they play in our ecosystem including fighting against Climate Change.

A small mobile library focused on trees has been installed at Our Epworth nursery to offer free learning materials for the people on the importance of trees, their care and management. The goal is to make sure that everybody is empowered through environmental education.

I don’t know who said this but it’s very relevant for development & adjusting our misplaced rituals, myths & sub-cultures to release focus towards our most important needs for progress

Past Saturday's #SEED Swap lived up to expectations, with many indigenous tree seeds exchanged, along with herbs and spices like chia seed, oregano ,bay leaves, and parsley @mitimasango

Relocated some baobabs to a spot where they can access more water .Most of our planting pockets at the site are #ecofriendly materials like empty milk cartons .This helps us promote sustainability and reduce our #carbon footprint #TreeKnowersAndGrowers @UNDPZimbabwe

The pods are green when young growing to brown-black when mature.

It is a small to medium-sized tree with a dark brown to black bark which has deeply fissured in older specimen. Thorns in pairs, straight, often typically pointing backwards. Leaves compound with 4-8 pinnae. Flowers are yellow and spherical.
