Not everyone will find love in this lifetime. Love requires honesty, integrity, and freedom. It is kind, generous, and expansive. What many people are actually chasing is attachment, reassurance, acceptance, and validation. That desire is human, but it is not love. True love uplifts, frees, and honors growth. Not everyone is ready for that frequency. Period.

Being friends with insane creatives is already nepo enough

if you’re a creative, you need to teach your nervous system how to create without threat. you will not create any meaningful art if your brain thinks everything is high stakes at all times. take some time every few days to work on an idea for 20 to 50mins without any interruptions. the rules are: you cannot restart, you cannot perfect, and you cannot evaluate. your potential cannot be milked out of pressure, it can only flow from expression, repetition, consistency… that is why drafts are your best friends. not everything needs to be seen!

And one major problem with knowing too much or seeing things clearly is that you lose the ability to participate in certain illusions that make life easier for everyone else.

You know, I have had many regrets. But when I heard Ethan Hawke say the one who is in love always wins, I don't just believe it. I choose to believe it. I believe it in my heart. Not in my head. I am not looking for proof. I just believe it. It is the closest I come to religion. I believe in the deepest part of my heart that the one who is in love always wins. Because in this shit world, to feel this, to truly feel it, to have your heart and soul buried in this feeling, even for a while, is the best feeling in the world. And maybe they turn out to be assholes and tricksters and idiots. But in that moment when your heart flew, to the stars, there is nothing that can take that place. Truly, the one who is in love always wins. If you deceive, you always lose, even where you get temporary gain. You always lose. Because you are empty. And what is life if after all you have gotten you end up empty. I'd rather win and be sad. Than be empty.

I have loved someone with a fullness that frightened even me. And do you know how much that changed me? For clarification, this story is not about the half-love of convenience, or the polite affection of passing time between two strangers exhibited in common occurrence today. I am talking about love that rearranges your senses and strips away your self-pride. The kind that makes you patient with another person beyond any explanation. I found myself forgiving before apologies were even tendered. I needed a justification to prolong my affection, and I always found it. Nowadays, if you ask me why I made a home in a place that never intended to house me, I cannot say. You would think love like that would leave a mark on you. You would think that it would, at least, bruise the hands of the person that dropped it. But never. Rarely does life ever work like that. Some people receive affection and tenderness the way a sieve receives water, everything simply passes through them, and nothing at all stays. I must say now that the painful thing, out of all of this, is that I was pouring into a cup with no bottom, and nobody tried to stop me. Some people were not shown love and so they cannot love. But how I wish I recognised earlier. How I wish I had invested my energy into rearing animals like domestic cattle or sheep, then perhaps there might have been compensation of commercial returns. But I was investing my gold in a pocket with several holes and wondering why each day I felt lighter, and not in any positive way. Well, time has passed and I have known love that did not require you to audition yourself. Love that has held me without any stringent conditions. I have been seen by eyes that did not study me for flaws before deciding if I was worth keeping. And I wonder, so far so good, how did I ever manage to navigate that one? It is humiliating to watch someone thrive on what you gave them while insisting you gave them nothing at all. But at least I can console myself with knowing that I was abundant. I was deliberate and particularly open-handed. In all, I do not totally absolve myself of responsibilities or twist the accusing fingers away from myself, but undoubtedly, I know now why it failed. If my story mirrors your circumstance, then perhaps it is time you realise that your emotions are going to waste because you are putting them in places where value is not recognised. It is like pouring water on stone, or tending carefully to grass. And hoping to come back years later to reap harvest. I hope that someday, you’re able to learn your own lesson.
