Who cares? You guys are really grasping at straws to try to make him look bad with this non-news. Maybe he's renting it from his parents like a responsible adult child would. Hasan Piker put the LA mayoral candidate and DSA member through a full-on struggle session over her record, repeatedly pressing her to explain where she had fallen short of the movement line. And honestly, even as a conservative, I felt bad for her. This was brutal. One flashpoint was a DSA criticism over Raman’s role in a city resolution tied to the UTLA BDS fight. But the exchange was bigger than that. This was not a good-faith interview. It was an ideological audit. Raman mostly tried to answer politically. She came to DSA through housing and homelessness, said this was not her area of expertise, said she had learned more, and promised she was “committed to learning more.” Stick around for more, because by the end of this even Hasan’s chat wanted his head.

@MuseZack It would be more reasonable if she would ask the same of the homeless encampments that have set up shop in the dry brush in parks and on hillsides, since they actually cause many of the fires. Or better yet, just admit that they shouldn't be there at all and enforce that law.

I am not a fan of Nithya Raman and not voting for her in this round of the election, but "don't have an open flame in your backyard when there's a red flag alert and the wind is blowing 40 MPH" isn't actually an unreasonable ask. If you want to get mad at her...(CONT'D)

On average, there are five to seven Red Flag days in LA in a year. These are days when there is an extremely high risk of fires of the sort that destroyed the Palisades and Altadena. It strikes me as reasonable to ask people to not light a fire pit on these days.

So RIGHT NOW... people in LA are walking through drug infested homeless encampments, used needles and feces on the streets thanks to Raman and Bass' apocalyptic policies.
