@MicBlades21@Ann_not_Anne@NashSevereWx Yes, it’s still temporary. Smaller the room, the easier to keep heated. Even without survival materials, if you’re in a bathroom or small room upstairs (heat rises so warmer upstairs if available) you can easily bundle and keep warm until power is restored.
We are concerned with the temp drop that's going to start late this morning. Things may improve for a bit then get worse as winds increase and temps drop. Those with and without power should be thinking about their stay warm plan. Overnight low is 8°.
@NashSevereWx What stay warm plan?? Blankets?
We have those emergency survival blankets but that’s all. Our fireplaces aren’t approved to be used as heat sources, we have no space heaters or generator, and we can’t drive anywhere to go to someone’s house who did or a warming center.
@pasdexcuses@NashSevereWx I talked to my boss and they looked at the weather here and understand and said not to come 🤣I get off the interstate at exit 1 in Ardmore and take a 2 lane road all the way into Huntsville. I’m at the Audi dealer there and not expecting many customers to come 🤣
@mk4sav@NashSevereWx If it were me and I were able to call out, I would. Northern Alabama typically has less ability to clear roads than TDOT here in TN. Not worth the risk, especially if you have to drive on hilly/shady roads as they'll be doing their best to keep the interstate clear first.

For you nerds out there he's the sounding from out 415pm balloon launch. We are seeing that the cap has eroded. Cape sub 1000 and lower lapse rates than earlier. Good news for supercell development; it isn't as potent an environment. Not much insight into the main event overnight. We'll be doing another one around 9-10 pm. The "real" balloon from the NWS is currently flying.
Damaging Straight-Line Winds, Hail, and Tornadoes All Possible Overnight Sunday and Wednesday; Potential Flooding Concerns Late Next Week. Lots of details in the new blog here nashvillesevereweather.com/2025/03/29/dam…
