Severe weather chances are increasing for Sunday night. SPC has outlined us in a 15% chance of seeing severe weather within 25 miles...but has also included us in a hatched area, which highlights the possibility of storms being particularly intense. Forecasts will be refined, so stay tuned.

⚠️10 a.m. Update⚠️ We currently have around 14,000 members without power. We ask that you please be patient as our crews work in difficult conditions to repair significant damage and restore power to all of our members. This could result in longer-than-usual restoration times. ➡️We are experiencing issues with our Outage Map and automated phone line due to high volume. The myMTE app is back up and running if you need to report an outage, or you can call 877-777-9020 to speak with a member service representative. ‼️Please stay at least 30 ft. away from downed power lines and stay off the roads if possible. If you encounter a downed line, call us at 877-777-9020.

@Ann_not_Anne @NashSevereWx In the same boat here and so many are. And yes, I'm very nervous. Do you have a gas grill? You can boil water on it and put it into water bottles to heat your blankets. You probably already know this, but make sure to wear a hat and gloves along with all of your layers.

We are concerned with the temp drop that's going to start late this morning. Things may improve for a bit then get worse as winds increase and temps drop. Those with and without power should be thinking about their stay warm plan. Overnight low is 8°.

@NashSevereWx I am so scared. We have a small child and obviously won’t be able to go anywhere in this ice for a long time.

@NashSevereWx Supposed to have a flight Tuesday morning. Do you think it’s likely to still happen/do you think we’ll know more about if it’s happening by tomorrow?

Refresher on what we call "Warm-Nose Ned." Surface temps below freezing. A mile or so up, temps warm above freezing causing snow to melt. How strong that warm-nose is (because it kinda looks like a nose on graphs) determines sleet or freezing rain. If it's weak, sleet. If it's more pronounced, stays liquid all the way to the ground...freezing rain. We call that warm-nose "Warm Nose Ned."

The area of wind that prompted the severe thunderstorm warning in northern Davidson has been cancelled. The winds have died down a below severe criteria. Please let us know if you see any damage using #tspotter in your post. Wind and rain have not mostly cleared I65 to east. Things should be calming down for all of us soon. Cold temps are on the way.

If you're new to Nashville, some info in a 🧵. Our tornado season here runs from tonight (when we start getting Fall cold fronts) until about June. While tonight's severe/tornado risk is pretty low, this is good practice for later. (1/6)

With these storms moving in, if you can safely do so - please tweet any hail (compared to the size of a coin) and any wind damage using #tspotter - thank you! Pictures and nearest crossroads are a bonus.

Our severe storm is now approaching College Grove, that lightning bug course, and the paintball place in SE Will Co. Heavy rain, lightning, and some wind, not much else. / 1040 PM / Andrew's Elgato is only part of his fried system, so it'll just be us, and that's OK, because this'll be it and soon we can return to life unruled by warnings

Several CAMs (convective allowing models) think supercells can break out through Middle Tenn. later this afternoon/tonight. HRRR is not one of those models. I see nothing concerning on radar now. That may change later / 401 PM
