@jbouie I don't get it. If furloughed or laid off, you get $1,200 + unemployment benefits + $600 additional weekly payments. Why is everyone here acting like $1,200 is the total benefit amount?

@sglaze1 @paulatuckerlv @Eater @darryn_briggs Most commercial leases include a “Force Majeure” clause which finds that unforeseeable events or “acts of god” will preclude tenants from their lease obligations. Pretty sure a company like Cheesecake Factory would make sure they had it in all their leases therefore wont pay

@ClaytonGuse @garcia_alexndra Terrible idea. Forces working parents to choose between a pay check and watching their kids. Also takes nurses and caretakers away from their employer and the sick at the most critical time of their careers to watch over their kids who are all but immune to corona.
