Just don't use it in the finished product.
Tracing for practice & tracing for a standalone illustration are two different things. If you'd wanna use this method for an actual illustration, trace the reference and then reproduce the traced lines on the side by hand

on top of this, the point of art fight is to make a lot of high-quality art pieces in order for your team to get the most points & win. tracing speeds up the process of making pieces tenfold and ultimately gives an unfair advantage to people that are putting in less work.

I'll never understand the animosity towards artists that use legitimate tools. This is not doing the work for you, you still need to have a basic understanding of perspective, how to draw hair, clothing, etc. It still takes the same amount of work but with visual assistance. Can we get with it, art community? Seriously, it's been decades.

@Tealst_ When someone says they're against tracing the 3d models they're called elitist...But isn't it the other way around? Is your art not good enough for you without the model? We're literally saying its ok to be a beginner and just draw as you are, & it sucks that you think otherwise

And people misunderstanding what's being said to them. Tracing doesn't mean referencing. It's completely different and people are either engagement baiting or doubling down because of all the confusion happening

I unironically enjoy the struggle of trying to draw from what I know lmaoooo I don't fault the process, but I've tried the 'copy model' before and it's just not nearly as fun or hype in the 'feeling successful' sector 😭
