Sharing this here, a colleague posted this on LinkedIn. It pushes our thinking around #EDI by asking critical questions worth reflecting on #EquityDiversityInclusion

If children only sharpen their brains at school, there’s no guarantee they won’t go on to make trouble. To balance their keen brains, they need a warm heart. The more compassionate they learn to be, the more useful members of society they’re likely to become.

My father did not dream of a colorblind society. He dreamed of a World House where the terrors of white supremacy, colonialism & imperialism are eradicated. And of a Beloved Community where extreme materialism, poverty, racism & war are not horrifying blights against humanity.

How do people read something, insert a phrase and the pass it off as what she’s saying? When they are trying their hardest to prove they are not as wrong wrong wrong as they are. I’m starting to feel sorry for them. This is sad.

Well well well, if it's isn't Kimberlé Crenshaw, founder of critical race theory, telling us that the term "critical race theory" can be "used as interchangeably for race scholarship as Kleenex is used for tissue"—exactly as I've been saying all along. 👍 www2.law.columbia.edu/fagan/courses/…

Appreciate the nod. Education from an educator is so important before making a decision. If we can’t help, I can direct you to a ton of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainers.
