Senate Democrats are in *disarray* in four key Senate races: Michigan, Maine, Minnesota and Iowa - Totally new dynamic for Dems, who stage-managed primaries effectively for 15 or so years. Schumer + DSCC have their views, but lots of senators squaring off in opposite sides of primaries. Plenty not following leaders' direction - Schatz (who is neutral!): “It’s because we haven't had the spicy primaries." Says he'd need a Google Doc to keep track of the senator endorsements - This week, Cortez Masto and Hassan backed Turek in Iowa, then Warren came in for Wahls. She also backed McMorrow and Platner - CCM came in for Stevens today in Michigan. That puts CCM and Warren on opposite sides in four states - Minnesota is most active contest. 8 Dems for Flanagan, 5 for Craig - Baldwin, who is backing Craig, told me senators are "getting behind the people that we think can win" - Murphy said candidates are "very aggressively" courting endorsements from senators. He's backed Flanagan and McMorrow so far: "I think we need senators that are going to be as pugilistic as possible"

🚨YIKES: Roy Cooper PANICS and tries to RUN when confronted about releasing Iryna Zarutska's killer from prison early. "Excuse me, Mr. Cooper, why did you release Decarlos Brown from prison early allowing him to kill...kill Iryna Zarutska? You have no comment?" Cooper: *can't get through door* "Do you stand by releasing 3,500 prisoners as governor? You have no comment?" Cooper: *evades to side door* He can't get away fast enough!

The recidivism rate for the 4,234 offenders released early by Gov. Cooper is over 50%, according to the data from the NC Department of Adult Corrections Cooper's releasees included some of the most heinous murderers and rapists serving life in prison

Anna Zarutska, mother of Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who was stabbed three times and killed on August 22, 2025, while commuting on a Charlotte light rail train in North Carolina. Iryna had come to the U.S. seeking safety and a new life, only for her life to be cut short. Her killer had been in and out of prison since 2011, with charges ranging from making threats to felony larceny, and was released from jail by former Governor Roy Cooper. In North Carolina, the killing prompted the passage of House Bill 307, “Iryna’s Law,” which set out various criminal law reforms.
