@esjesjesj Um, excuse me? If you mean where people live one on top of each other, in crowded, dirty, smelly crime ridden cities, then sure.

@chambleebrandel You left out the last part of the PGA's pitch. "We'll take that dictatorial murderer's money here within a month or two, right on the heels of us telling you that you shouldn't."

Or alternatively: PGA tour: Plz come play our tour and be a part of something bigger than yourself; reconnect with the audience that invested in you and truly help grow the game. Liv: Here’s a ton of money to help a dictatorial murderer pretend he cares about you and the game of golf so he can launder his reputation; never mind that you’ll be turning your back on the foundations of golf that gave you a start and the tour that gave you a stage, just say, as we command you to, that you are growing the game.

Here’s a behind the scenes scoop of the PGA Tour and LIV negotiating with Anthony Kim to make a comeback: PGA Tour: Plz come play on our Tour LIV: Plz come play on our Tour and also here is 500 million dollars

Due to popular demand, one of the programs on the new Fit For Golf App will be Machine Based Machines often get a bad rap from “functional training” preachers, but they can be used to good effect 💯 If you like machines, or that’s what your gym has, FFG has you covered🙂

@practicalgolf The numbers don't surprise me, but interesting that the biggest gap in terms of make percentage between Tour pros and scratch players is at the 5-foot range. I would have guessed something more like 8-12 feet.

4) The PGA Tour make rate from 8 feet is 50% Putting is really difficult. But doesn't mean you step up to each putt expecting to miss. You need to be a little easier on yourself *after* the putt. Here is a helpful table from Every Shot Counts (a must-read)

Let’s poll caddies at Pinehurst, Pebble, Old Course, Erin Hills, Straits, Kiawah, Winged Foot, Spyglass, Shinnecock, Riviera, Oakmont…courses that “we” play where “they,” the pros & elite ams also play. Does the public or members hit it too far? Do they overpower the “classic”?

@laz_versalles The common folk huh? I guess the rest of us will just let you elite folks tell us how it is. Or, you are a pompous ass who doesn't know nearly as much about golf as you think.

Here is what the common folk don’t understand: You’re supposed to be challenged. It’s supposed to be hard. The test is of the *full bag* not just driver and the 5 wedges you carry. If you want it to be easier, simply alert your caddie that you’re moving up a box!
Bishop@DawgsandGolf

@laz_versalles If you think losing 15-20 yards of distance on every hole doesn’t make the game harder for every single skill level, you don’t know a fucking think about golf. We get it, you’re probably a member at some elitist golden era club.

I appreciate the governing bodies and what they mean to the game, but on the roll back issue they are not only out of touch with the game they govern, but the people that play it. It is a very small number of people that are in favor of a roll back. Golf course architects of which there are what, maybe a hundred or so? Golf course architect geeks of which there are maybe a few thousand? And a very few tour players and former tour players, compared to 50 million global golfers against it and 28,000 PGA of America members against it and most every single touring professional against it. The average LPGA tour player flies the ball 220 yards, the average male amateur carries the ball 215 yards, the average female amateur carries the ball 147 yards, (all numbers courtesy of a USGA report btw) but because a few tour players through years of practice, thousands of hours in the gym, and yes, advances in tech, can carry the ball 283.8 yards (tour average for 2023) they want to penalize 50 million golfers. Please. Appreciate the athleticism of the best, but don’t punish the only people in the game that will feel the sting of this decision.

@laz_versalles @Golf_JMB3 @BradIngarfield Yes, I go to my course and every day, I think, "Damn, that guy playing as a 5 would be a 8 if it wasn't for the ridiculous ball letting him hit it 260 off the tee instead of 245." A real problem we have out there in the amateur realm.

@Golf_JMB3 @BradIngarfield James, go play with 16 clubs in your bag if you want but the ball is out of hand. So is the driver (that’s next.)

@KVanValkenburg @PeytonHeyward I can play the exact ball the pros play now. But apparently I will soon get to hit it shorter because a bunch of exclusive clubs on Long Island that I have no chance of ever playing would prefer that pros hit 8 irons into their par 4s instead of wedges. Awesome.

Yeah it was super boring golf in 2000 when Tiger won the U.S. Open with a ball that went shorter and spun more than the ones pros will have to play in 2028.
Paul #BillsMafia@BillsMafia1985

@thatguy53080 @KVanValkenburg I get that point of view, but ask Kevin if he enjoyed watching the 1993 US Open for his podcast he did. It's really boring golf, and this is what they want to give us. No one thinks Oakmont, Carnoustie, or dozens of other courses need this protection.

@JoelMBeall Name one good reason that a shorter ball or bifurcation makes sense other than that the very best players on the planet are not playing a small handful of the most exclusive courses on the planet precisely as the architects originally envisioned they would be played.

65-year-old Bernhard Langer hits it roughly 20 yards farther (269.3 yards) than 35-year-old Bernhard Langer (250.1 yards) and the latter won the '93 Masters (although I suppose they are the same person).

@anthrax999L @Highflyer0007 @curiosityonx You are conflating utility with value though, I think. You call jewelry worthless because you have no practical use for it. But if you had a 10-carat diamond necklace to sell, I doubt you'd consider it worthless.

@JohnstonGarrett @adplacksports And he will get OGWR points for however he happens to finish in April. He knowingly chose to play a tour that did not have OGWR status and wasn't likely to get status in the immediate future. So his ranking goes down due to the choice he made. Doesn't seem too controversial.
