I love coffee. I love the way it tastes, the way it smells, and the way it makes me feel. I love going to a coffee shop and sipping on a dirty chai in the afternoon with a friend. When I consume coffee, I am doing it for pleasure, not for optimizing my capacity for labor.

people use caffeine so wrong if you're consuming it every day (ie, coffee), you depend on it to get to a baseline level of consciousness if you only consume it once a week (or less), on days when you want to be extra effective, it's a superpower

The *ACL author response is like a trial where you are guilty until proven innocent and have to plead your own case in front of an anonymous judge who may be familiar with your case. Also, the judge is free to ignore your defense. I think Kafka wrote a book about it. #NLProc
