This is Nikopol, a city in Ukraine where civilians are being hunted by drones. I investigated how russians are now launching those drones FROM Europe's largest nuclear power plant at the other side of the river. Russian aggression puts the entire planet at risk of nuclear disaster, it doesn't just stop at the borders of Ukraine. Since the Zaporizhzhia NPP was stormed, theres been almost zero international news coverage of the site, yet every day the situation deteriorates. The same soviet system of lies that led to the Chornobyl disaster is now running a nuclear facility twice the size. Every single environmental agency needs to start calling out the russian threat to our planet. The plant is now running on diesel generators that can fail at any moment. They have already failed 15 times since the full-scale invasion. This is Chornobyl on steroids. Whatever your views on the war in Ukraine, a nuclear disaster here doesn’t respect borders. It doesn’t care about your politics. What's happening in Nikopol is a warning.

I was due to appear on Sky News to speak about my family, Ma'ayan murdered, her father, my cousin Tsachi, taken hostage. While waiting in the virtual green room minutes before I was due to appear, the producer told me they were spiking me due to a breaking news story. They spent the whole hour speculating as to why the IDF did this and reporting 500 dead, etc. Two journos wearing flak jackets in Israel (no where near the site of the bombing) just spouting off nonsense for an hour without once suggesting that there might be doubt as to who did it. No verifiable information. Straight repetition of propaganda points pushed out by Islamic Jihad and their supporters. All since disproven.

Everyone that tells you that antisemitism is caused by Israel's actions is telling you something absurd. Turkey has been far more brutal in its expansion, its oppression of Kurds, Greeks, and Armenians, and has a far greater connection to "Western imperialism." It was the premier site for NATO ballistic and nuclear missiles during the Cold War! Erdoğan is an authoritarian tyrant, and the country has an explicit history past as an empire, the Ottoman one. Yet, nobody harasses diaspora Turks by parading the Kurdish flag outside their neighborhood or accuses their children walking to school of genocide. Nobody organizes boycotts of Turkish goods or follows around stars of Turkish descent, like D'Arcy Carden, to accuse anyone watching her shows of supporting apartheid. Nobody turns up their lips and sneers at those that decorate their homes with Turkish lamps or cook Turkish food, or deny that Turkish cuisine even exists. A fez is just a fez, it does not paint a target on you like a kippah. Antizionism is racist antisemitism. It is not concern for Israel's actions, and never has been.

I do think this is an underrated factor in the “UK heat hits different” argument because shorter nights and more hours of daylight means there’s basically no time for anything to cool down, a heatwave here is consistently hot day and night for however long it lasts
