“When we were first invited to Milan for the Olympics, we said no. It felt like more than we could handle. But we kept thinking about what John and Matty would say if they knew we turned it down. We knew the answer.

John loved representing his country. From the time he was little, he dreamed of competing at the Olympics. In that final summer, he was working harder than ever, pushing himself with everything he had to earn a spot on that roster. He was going to be there.

Sitting with that knowledge while watching these Games was not easy — but being present for them, surrounded by people who truly cared about John and Matty, made it something we will always treasure.

Every person we encountered took the time to ask about the boys — who they were, what they meant to us, the kind of people they were away from the ice.

What struck us most was realizing that John and Matty's impact reaches so much further than we sometimes see in our own grief.

They are carried by so many people — in locker rooms, in conversations, in quiet moments we will never even know about. That means everything to us.

And then Team USA won gold. When Zach, Auston, and Matthew carried John's jersey around that ice, we were overwhelmed — they made sure he was there. And then to see Noa and Johnny — on Johnny's second birthday — carried out onto the ice to be part of that gold medal photo — there are no words for what that felt like.

John and Matty should have been there, and in that moment, they were.

Thank you to every member of that team for loving John & Matty - and for making sure they were part of something historic. And thank you to everyone at @NBCOlympics and @usahockey for your kindness, your generosity, and for bringing our family to Milan to witness it.

Nancy Guthrie If you are following this story, you may want to watch the whole "Savannah goes Home" segment. (Linked below) With her family ruled out as suspects, who is in? I believe someone from Tuscon who crossed paths with Savannah is likely. I believe BAU has drawn up a profile of the abductor and is fasioning words to appeal to him based on the abductor's profile. Is it someone angry, like Bryan Kohberger was angry but not angry because he was a sadistic Loser, serial killer in making, but rather is Porch Guy angry because he feels slighted and wants Savannah to pay. Is this why Savannah is doing the pleas solo? Because they believe she is the target? This abduction never was about ransom money. With the family ruled out, we know the motive was not life insurance/ inheritance. We are down to the motive being far more twisted. We know about the "Talk to her and you will see" reference. What about, "It's never too late. You are not lost or alone." Does BAU believe this is a loner and a messed up type of individual, deeply unhappy with who he is and deeply jealous of Savannah? Someone capable of extreme violence, but hurting inside? I think we will be shocked at what we will come to know. What happened in that house between Porch Guy and Nancy for up to 41 minutes? Was the DNA found inside blood, hair, semen, sweat or touch? The motive of the ransom notes seems to be torturing Savannah as does the motive in the abduction. New images in the search for Nancy Guthrie:   Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors - including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.   Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance.   Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit tips.fbi.gov

I just spoke with the Sheriff and asked him about this article from Reuters. He tells me there has been no evidence blocked in this case, but says the department did want all evidence submitted to the same lab versus multiple labs. He says in a meeting with the FBI today, one of the agents said, "we do not want the media to divide us." We have also reached out to the FBI for response on this. The Sheriff said there is still no sign of Nancy, but they have "good leads." reuters.com/business/finan…
