Operating this DVN service matters because, banks and stablecoin issuers require dependable methods to transfer assets across blockchains, and Deutsche Telekom MMS, leveraging its Open Telekom Cloud (OTC) infrastructure, demonstrates it can deliver this reliably without single points of failure. Notably, LayerZero chose MMS not just for the parent company's reputation, as highlighted by @PrimordialAA: "Deutsche Telekom MMS’s infrastructure and commitment to sustainability make them the ideal partner in advancing cross-chain transaction reliability, accelerating blockchain adoption, and supporting institutional clients in the evolving digital economy." Eugenio Carlon, Portfolio and People Cluster Lead for Digital Trust and Cyber Security at Deutsche Telekom MMS, underscored the advantages for institutional clients, enabling seamless inter-chain operations backed by strong security measures. Building on this, Deutsche Telekom MMS has a proven track record in securing networks such as @injective, @NEARProtocol, and @0xPolygon, just prior to its DVN role on @LayerZero_Core, which highlights its expanding Web3 presence. In Q2 2025, following the partnership announcement, LayerZero's native token, $ZRO, saw a 2% surge, reaching around $2.66 with a market cap of $296 million, according to CoinGecko data at the time. It wasn't a massive jump. It signaled market optimism about how this alliance could genuinely advance blockchain interoperability and draw in more institutional players. In summary, the collaboration between Deutsche Telekom and LayerZero merges telecommunications expertise with blockchain innovation. As institutional investment flows into crypto, infrastructure like this will be essential.

FactFriday - @LayerZero This week’s spotlight is on LayerZero and their newest release: Zero, a new Layer 1 designed for “global market infrastructure” and not just crypto-native apps. The idea is simple: scale without turning decentralization into a luxury feature. Zero separates execution from verification using zero-knowledge proofs, so validators don’t have to re-run the same work as everyone else. That shift is what LayerZero claims unlocks a heterogeneous design (different roles, different hardware requirements) instead of just “every node does everything.” Multi-Core Zones Instead of One Global Bottleneck: Zero is built around multiple Atomicity Zones, think concurrent environments governed under one chain so different workloads (trading, payments, general apps) aren’t forced to compete for the same blockspace. LayerZero positions this as a “multi-core world computer” model, with a scaling target of around 2M TPS per Zone in their roadmap. Zero is expected to launch in fall 2026, starting with three zones: • a general-purpose EVM environment, • a privacy-focused payments setup, • and a trading-oriented zone spanning multiple asset classes.
