@Marksnewest @TrackAIPAC @Sludge It is very hard to lose a primary when you are running unopposed. I guess it could happen with write-ins, but it’s not likely. He had a potential challenger, but Mamdani quashed it…

📰 @Sludge: Hakeem Jeffries Opposes Cutting Aid to Israel After Record-Breaking AIPAC Donation "On May 20, AIPAC PAC sent two earmarked payments—$87,500 and $61,800, totaling $149,300—to the Jeffries Battleground Protection Fund, a joint fundraising committee that splits proceeds between Jeffries' own campaign, the DCCC, and more than a dozen frontline House Democrats."

@_LFCian @TheProjectUnity If you have trouble understanding the meanings of basic English terminology, you should probably work on that. In this context, a private citizen is the opposite of a public official. Public officials are beholden to constituents. Private citizens aren’t.

@GeneralMCNews @shibadad8 Of course he is. Again showing that Dem leadership cares more about those filling their coffers than the people they represent. Maybe 4 years of a Vance presidency will wake them up and they will actually start fighting for their constituents instead of against them.

The Senate lost a giant today. Senator Lindsey Graham dedicated his life to serving this country. He was passionate, fearless in defending what he believed, and never stopped fighting for the people he represented. Whether you agreed with him or not, you respected his commitment to public service and his love for America. My prayers are with his sister Darline, his nieces, friends, the people of South Carolina, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. May he rest in peace.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my former colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham. He was full of wit, energy, and charm, and he cared deeply about the Senate and the people of South Carolina. Doug and I are sending our thoughts and our prayers to his friends and loved ones.

AIPAC and its allies are terrified of losing their grip on our elections. It’s why they’re back, pouring millions to support my opponent, who refuses to speak out against genocide and takes money from MAGA Republicans and the corporations price-gouging our communities. Next month, we'll defeat them and bring STL back to DC.
Andrew Solender@AndrewSolender

There it is: AIPAC drastically ramping up their spending to oppose former Rep. Cori Bush in #MO01, adding $600,000 to their investment for a total of $1.14M so far this cycle. Election day is Aug. 4 — still plenty of time for more spending. axios.com/2026/07/09/aip…

Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦
Now, suddenly, the unconfirmed news is that Platner isn't submitting the withdraw paperwork until Monday, the last day he can do so.
Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦@cmclymer

Graham Platner just posted a video claiming he "intends to withdraw" and that he's "suspending" his campaign. I think he's lying. I think this is strategy. Let me explain. Most of his 11-min video is spent denying the allegation as totally false, portraying himself as a "regular person" and a victim against "large forces" and as a defender of the people. Here's what I think is his strategy... Graham Platner's campaign is currently encouraging Mainers to send feedback to the Maine Democratic Party. I believe he's hoping that over the next few days, enough Mainers will send feedback defending him that he can justify not submitting the withdraw paperwork by the Monday deadline. This is strategy. That's why he only says he's "suspending" and why he doesn't give a concrete date for officially withdrawing. It's a stall. There is a famous precedent for this. Richard Nixon did it. In 1952, Nixon was chosen as Eisenhower's running mate. He was subsequently ensnarled over his use of a very shady slush fund. He faced intense pressure to drop from the ticket. So, he asks Eisenhower for the chance to make his case to the voters on television. Eisenhower lets him. Nixon goes on TV and doesn't really address the concerns of how the slush fund is inappropriate. Instead, he cleverly talks around it, denies wrongdoing, talks about his "modest" personal finances (the appearance of transparency), paints himself as an honest family man being attacked, and ends by saying he was gifted a dog that his daughters loved and had named "Checkers" and he wasn't giving up the dog. He then told voters to write to the RNC if they believe he should be kept on the ticket. It was incredibly manipulative. It's called "the Checkers speech," and it worked. Four million letters, telegrams, and phone calls were placed to the RNC overwhelmingly in support of Nixon. Eisenhower kept him on the ticket. The use and impropriety of the slush fund were never really properly addressed. Platner is, I believe, hoping that Maine voters will flood the Maine Democratic Party over the next few days urging them to keep him on. I think that's the strategy here. He wants enough "feedback" to point to the "will of the voters" and justify staying on the ballot.
