@HimesStan Not really. You could assume that a lot of the Fine voters influenced by the nearly $6 million of “Elect Chicago Women” ads (which didn’t mention Fine’s Israel positions) wanted a woman to represent them, so Kat was their second choice.

Imagine what kind of uplifting slate campaign @KatAbughazaleh @bushraamiwala and @MikeSimmonsChi could’ve had in IL-09 with Ranked Choice Voting. Until we have it, groups like @WorkingFamilies @DemSocialists @TrackAIPAC should have a single unified endorsement process to win.

Never been a fan of ID politics, but maybe having a Muslim in the Dem Senate delegation will help de-normalize paying for Israel to bomb the Middle East & fighting their wars.

Again I like Platner but endorsing him and not Abdul is just racist garbage. They’re identical on policy, both in targeted races, both endorsed by Bernie, and both men running against women. There is no reason to support Platner but not Abdul unless you’re just racist.

Gonna be honest everyone’s been attacking Bushra over Kat’s loss but every progressive I know in district voted for her or admitted to me that Kat should’ve dropped out to back her. She was a better candidate with deep roots in district while Kat was seen as a vanity campaign.
