#Eritrea - The Asmara Film Festival; by Sona Berhane *"...For cinephiles, the programme offered what can only be described as a feast of Eritrean cinema, featuring works such as Bahri (ባሕሪ), Mequr Merzi (ምቁር መርዚ), Barud 77 (ባሩድ 77), and possibly Eta Ade (እታ ኣደ)". *"...The first Asmara Film Festival has, in many ways, accomplished something remarkable... Whether it will continue and grow into the kind of institution that shapes both films and the culture that surrounds them remains to be seen. But for now, in the dim light of the theatre, as the silver screen flickers to life and the audience looks up...one senses that something has begun". shabait.com/2026/03/28/the…

#Eritrea's defining attributes and gold-standard of renowned resilience; unparalleled social cohesion; and rich heritage of walking in lock-step in all conceivable circumstances have, and continue to remain, elements of extreme annoyance and despair to the notorious clique of hired lobbyists and Conflict Entrepreneurs - እፍሊ ሓንጨመንጪ/ጋንታ ገናዞ። Reason why we see them resort to, and spew, vitriol intermittently; especially during quarterly/periodic paydays. x.com/hawelti/status…

FIFA approved Tesfaldet Tekie, Sweden's central midfield playmaker, to play for Eritrea. The delay was because he played one friendly game with Sweden's senior national team in Qatar against Iceland on Jan. 11, 2019. They drew 2-2.

Excellent Read - #Eritrea: A Living Great Example to the World of Faith, Unity, and Shared Destiny; by David Yeh Ethnic and religious strife and polarization have been, and continue to remain, the Achilles heel in most multi-ethnic and multi-religious countries in the Horn of Africa and the wider world. Against this backdrop of perennial sectarian and internecine feuds, Eritrea remains an oasis of social cohesion and harmony within a multi-ethnic and religious setting; an epitome, so to speak, of a refreshing historical trajectory worthy of profound appraisal and appreciation. redseabeacon.com/eritrea-a-livi… via @RedSeaBeacon

Let’s be honest, even if it’s uncomfortable.⚠️ You cannot claim to stand against oppression, injustice, and dictatorship and then celebrate a team built, promoted, and used by the very system you oppose. This is not just football. This is political branding. A team largely made up of diaspora players tied directly or indirectly to a regime that survives on fear, forced loyalty, and exploitation is not simply representing #Eritrea. It reflects a narrative carefully shaped to normalize and soften the image of authoritarian rule. So what exactly are we celebrating? It is not the freedom of Eritrean youth.
It is not the voices of prisoners.
It is not the end of indefinite conscription.
It is not justice. You cannot stand for change one day and cheer for regime connected symbolism the next. That contradiction weakens the movement and blurs the moral line we claim to stand on. This is not about attacking players. It is about clarity, integrity, and refusing to be emotionally influenced by distractions. If we truly believe in justice for #Eritrea, we must stop applauding anything that helps clean the image of the system we are fighting. No more double standards. No more selective outrage.
Stand firm or do not pretend to stand at all. #EBRF #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJPropaganda #NoMorePFDJTerror #TransnationalRepression

We stand with Israel because we are Christians. Saved by the Holy Son of God...Jesus Christ the only One who can forgive sins. The Bible says 'Blessed are you Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword.' (Deuteronomy 33:29)
