When circumstances are already very tough for farmers, uncertainty around the crop protection tools they rely on is only making things worse. These tools help farmers manage pests and weeds, keep yields high, and control costs. Without them, already thin margins become even tighter. Fortunately, some lawmakers are stepping up. The Farm Bill’s inclusion of labeling uniformity language—and its passage through committee—is a promising step forward. States like Kentucky, Kansas, and Missouri have stepped up by taking action to protect crop protection tools. Now it’s time for others to follow their lead.
