@JGoodroger @INTERIORPORN1 Nesting is preparing for the baby, not remodeling something for yourself
English

@INTERIORPORN1 This is called the nesting phase. Pretty standard stuff.

Take this storm seriously, folks.
Moderate to major impacts are expected from the Central US through to the Northeast today through the weekend.
- Hazardous to impossible driving conditions are expected. Avoid travel if at all possible.
- Widespread closures and disruption to infrastructure may also occur.
Stay weather aware and up to date on the latest alerts and weather conditions by following your local national weather service office on social media or checking weather.gov.

This week, I bought 30 lb of chemical-free, locally raised and butchered ground beef from a Southwest rancher. I asked him to send me the fattiest ground beef he had—around 20% fat—and his driver delivered it last night. I paid $280 for 30 lb of grass-fed beef, plus $25 for delivery. I feel rich now.😂😘

@RightPulseNewss I thought this would be illegal to ban as it infringes on freedom of speech? Not sure tho

@pusholder I’d like to smack her in the head a few times and see how she likes it… my son was in the NICU for 9 days after birthing complications. We never left his side, we took turns sleeping in his room in a chair or couch, we watched the nurses like hawks.
English

@honeycroppers @sammyjoluxton1 @Pi_maker3 @Susan_E_J_USA I would argue that newborn adoption is indeed a blessing rather than the alternative of growing up in the foster system.
English

@modernlady30 @sammyjoluxton1 @Pi_maker3 @Susan_E_J_USA No. It isn’t always a blessing. Ask the thousands upon thousands who were adopted. How would you like for your birth cert to be destroyed and redone with the names of people who have no genetic connection to you? Because that’s what happens in most states. Your history is gone.
English

@VKP_25 @JTsFaded_ @AuroraCoulange @esjesjesj We are talking about maternal separation at birth.. not talking about the foster system. I’m talking about the adoption of a newborn infant.
English

@modernlady30 @JTsFaded_ @AuroraCoulange @esjesjesj If you think adoption is child centered, you haven't ever once met someone who was adopted while old enough to remember being in the foster system.
English

@svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Hahaha okay 😂 been lots of research done on maternal separation.
English

We don't immediately put babies on their mother's chest to *form* a bond.
We put babies on their mother's chest because they have an *existing* bond.
A bond that even her non-birthing genetic parents cannot replicate as it relates to measurably lowering the infant’s cortisol levels and regulating the baby’s nervous system.
When babies lose their birth mother to tragedy, the world mourns.
Surrogacy inflicts that same loss intentionally and commercially and the world celebrates.
Pop Crave@PopCrave
Meghan Trainor has welcomed a baby girl named Mikey Moon via surrogate.
English

@svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy From the babys perspective the surrogate is its mother. The surrogate is all the baby knows, grew there for 9 months, knows her voice, her heartbeat, her smell, they shared blood. Its only comfort is removed after a traumatizing birth. And the “parents” are complete strangers
English

@modernlady30 @Advo_Katy The baby is biologically hers, you know that right? The surrogate was not the mother.
English

@sammyjoluxton1 @Pi_maker3 @Susan_E_J_USA Adoption is turning a tragedy into a blessing. Surrogacy is knowingly creating a tragedy by contract.
English

@Pi_maker3 @Susan_E_J_USA So you’re saying that adoption and fostering is wrong and that people raised by this nature will never love nor be connected to the people who raised them their whole life?
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy To you point, have conclusive human data. But we don’t have to bc we can use other mammals. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. It’s been nice having a respectful debate with you. Have a good day
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy But we know the negative effects by looking at other mammal species, the results are scientifically relevant to humans. That’s why we use mammals to study all types of medical interventions bc they directly relate to humans
English

@modernlady30 @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Sure and thats why i said earlier the science is inconclusive. There are studies that show it one way and studies that show it the other. So to just say one is fact over the other isn't right.
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Yes its happening naturally in the world and we observe it retrospectively, but you cant ethically experiment separation. We cant randomly assign babies to early separation vs. staying with mom the way we do with animals. Thats never been done and never will
English

@modernlady30 @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Well we can. There are kids who are surrogates or adopted or even given to the state. And the. There are kids who stay with the parent that birthed them. And then we compare to see if there are differences. To me that isn't unethical its already happening.
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy You can’t just look at human studies bc there’s simply not enough data. Do we have reason to take animal research seriously when thinking about human infant development/maternal separation? Absolutely, many core developmental processes are conserved across mammals.
English

@modernlady30 @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Sorry I thought I linked this grok convo
x.com/i/grok/share/f…
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy There’s robust evidence across many species that early maternal separation causes long-term stress and emotional effects. We can’t ethically study this in humans (that’s why there’s not much research), so animal research fills the gap and informs what we know about human infants
English

@modernlady30 @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy But it recent 2024 studies they dont see that happening in humans.
English

@IntriguedYapper @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy We legally protect puppies from early maternal separation, It’s wild that we acknowledge bonding trauma in dogs but dismiss it entirely in human infants.
English

@modernlady30 @wedge9t @svenskin1976 @Advo_Katy Well luckily theres a built it fact checker on the app so ill ask it about the recent research.
