For the first time, we brought together hacker house leaders around the world. Everyone at the table are individuals who anchor the community of founders that reside inside the hacker homes, designed to optimize the founder experience and connect builders across ecosystems. On a personal level, the Residency gave me a roof over my head, and a community that showed support and kindness since touchdown in SF a year ago. These were the initial friends who toured the city with me, took me to play tennis in the park, and showed me the beauty of SF. Those moments, to me, were priceless. The system impacted me greatly, and I hope to support the expansion and sustainability of this infrastructure to create exponential impact globally. Similar to how the hacker house leaders are creating a community for their residents, its important for us to also have a community for the leaders - to share our experiences, support each other, and in turn, be able to create a bigger impact for those navigating the startup landscape. Along with @mofionanuga and @edchucation, we brought together 25 hacker house leaders globally. We discussed the different systems that differ residencies from hacker houses, best practices that ensure the growth of the program whilst maintaining the most optimal environment for the founders, and the advantages/difficulties that each house faces.
