Malda: A Next-Gen zk-native DeFi Protocol Built for Scalability, Security & Capital Efficiency
@malda_xyz is reshaping DeFi infrastructure by combining zero-knowledge technology with modular architecture to solve the biggest pain points of multichain finance: fragmentation, friction, and risk.
At its core, Malda operates on a dual-layer design:
Host Chain (Linea) – Stores all account balances and protocol states, ensuring Ethereum-level finality and security.
Extension Chains – Modular rollups for specific DeFi use cases (e.g., lending, trading), secured by zk-proofs and synchronized with the host chain.
This model enables shared liquidity, composable markets, and a global interest rate across all chains — eliminating the inefficiencies of siloed ecosystems.
Malda introduces Global Accounts — smart contract wallets inspired by Vitalik’s vision. Users can sign one transaction and interact with multiple chains without switching RPCs, signing again, or paying redundant gas. UX meets trustless infrastructure.
Security is non-negotiable. After the recent exploit, the Malda team launched Operation Phoenix — a full recovery and hardening initiative:
Community-governed recovery fund
Multi-tiered audits and bug bounties
Sequencer decentralization roadmap
Optional proof generation via Risc0 & Boundless
Malda is designed to scale with users, not against them. Whether you're a trader, builder, or protocol, the capital efficiency and technical elegance of Malda offer a future-ready foundation.
Zero friction. Zero fragmentation. Fully modular.
That’s the Malda vision for DeFi.

What is Malda? A new breed of money market on Linea.
Malda isn’t just another DeFi lending protocol.
It’s a purpose-built, modular, zk-native system designed for security, scalability, and real user incentives.
Here’s how it works 👇
1. Built on Linea. Powered by ZK.
Malda leverages Linea’s zkEVM to offer low fees, fast confirmations, and Ethereum-level security.
It’s one of the first major lending protocols optimized for this environment.
ZK infra isn’t a narrative for Malda — it’s the foundation.
2. Modular Core, Maximum Flexibility.
Most lending protocols are rigid. Malda is different.
Its core architecture is modular, allowing the team to quickly integrate new assets, strategies, and risk models — without compromising the integrity of the protocol.
Expect rapid iteration and expansion.
3. Security-first Design.
After a targeted exploit, Malda paused, rebuilt, and introduced a clean contract deployment, a new audit with Sherlock, and added Hypernative’s real-time security oracle.
Post-launch: a bug bounty, live monitoring, and hardened infrastructure.
Malda doesn't just recover — it evolves.
4. Real Yield. Real Users.
Unlike many DeFi protocols chasing gimmicks, Malda’s yield model is sustainable.
Protocol fees are recycled into the recovery fund
User incentives are tied to actual usage (via Malda Points)
Loyal users get 4x multipliers — encouraging long-term TVL
The incentives are designed for staying power, not short-term hype.
5. Community-led Governance.
Malda is governed by its users.
A recent Snapshot vote determined the fund extraction method post-exploit — with voting power based on users’ deposit sizes.
This isn’t just optics — the community controls the direction, fund flows, and recovery roadmap.
In short:
Malda is a secure, modular, community-owned money market — optimized for the zk future.
Not hype. Not just talk.
A protocol with product-market fit, strong incentives, and a path to long-term sustainability.
Let’s build better DeFi.

We’ve been with Linea since day zero - before the speculation, before the hype.
Why? The same vision: One Ethereum
Linea has the fundamentals. A ZK-EVM built by Consensys, the team behind core DeFi infrastructure like Metamask. Battle-tested, Ethereum-aligned veterans, designing to scale the capabilities of blockchain technology.
Despite this, we didn’t just sit around and wait for opportunity to come to us.
We built it.
What launched as the first lending protocol on Linea has evolved into a mission to Unify the the entire blockchain ecosystem - unlocking a future where liquidity, users, and opportunities flow across Ethereum.
For capital efficiency.
For seamless UX.
For the users.
For the builders.
For the future.
And we’re just getting started.

1/6/25 - Investigation Status Update
A comprehensive investigation is diligently ongoing with assistance from and in collaboration with leading experts in cybersecurity.
Relevant government authorities have also been notified.
The community’s continued patience and understanding throughout this process is greatly appreciated.
As previously shared:
- Mendi contracts remain secure and were not impacted.
- Malda remains paused out of an abundance of caution as the investigation continues.
A full post-mortem will be released once the investigation is complete. Further updates will be shared as they become available.
There is a storm brewing in DeFi
Fully on-chain apps will be replaced by hybrid on and off-chain DeFi apps. Some will adapt to the new paradigm and some will die.
The name is #Persian_Gulf and it always has been.
We strongly object to any attempt to distort this historical name for political reasons.
For decades, NASA and other global scientific institutions have consistently referred to this body of water as the Persian Gulf — a name rooted in ancient history, used in maps, documents, and satellite missions, including NASA’s own archives.
Changing it to anything else is a denial of history, science, and cultural heritage.
We urge leaders and institutions to uphold factual integrity — not propaganda.

The name Persian Gulf, like many geographical designations, is deeply rooted in human history. Iran has never objected to the use of names such as the Sea of Oman, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, or Red Sea. The use of these names does not imply ownership by any particular nation, but rather reflects a shared respect for the collective heritage of humanity.
In contrast, politically motivated attempts to alter the historically established name of the Persian Gulf are indicative of hostile intent toward Iran and its people, and are firmly condemned. Such biased actions are an affront to all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence.
Let's hope that the absurd rumors about the PERSIAN Gulf that are going around are no more than a disinformation campaign by "forever warriors" to anger Iranians all over the world and agitate them.
I am confident that @realdonaldtrump is aware that the name PERSIAN Gulf is centuries old and recognized by all cartographers and international bodies and was even used by all leaders of the region in their official communications until as recently as 1960's.
While any short-sighted step in this connection will have no validity or legal or geographical effect, it will only bring the wrath of all Iranians from all walks of life and political persuasion in Iran, the U.S. and across the world.
