@DougWahl1 I’m not seeing any Coloradoan post to recall. We know how bad the fire season will be this year and devastating without the federal funds that have been withheld. Someone would rather see destruction.

@atrupar @jaredpolis I believe Polis sacrificed his career to protect CO citizens from losing their homes and possibly lives to fire in this record breaking drought. Trump blackmailed him for federal funds.

@TravoltaMolta @gardengirl125 I think Polis sacrificed himself for the citizens of Colorado to get all of the funds that Trump has been withholding rather than have CO burn in this record drought. We can no longer get house insurance.

When I was in high school our cafeteria had these cinnamon rolls that I’ve been chasing since I graduated!! I don’t know if it was because I was high all the time or if they really were that good!! Did your high school cafeteria have something that good?

@davegreenidge57 My husband worked in Asia. Not putting your hands in your lap was stressed very strongly. In fact, his company had a lot of training so there would be no misunderstandings because of the Asian culture. They even had some for we expat wives and families.

Americans have a habit of resting their hands under the table. In most cultures that’s seen as being impolite. This crew was obviously coached on that. And Pete Hegseth is nothing less than a petulant child.

@andynewmanlpc @menace11 Of course we knew about polygamy but it was Brigham’s polygamy, not Joseph’s. I learned about Joseph starting it when a friend told me in the church foyer when I was 19 in 1973.

@gerordaqs @thomashobohm I lived in London in the 90’s where my path crossed many wealthy Indian young people at movies, plays, restaurants, etc. They were always loud & worse took umbrage if anyone asked them to quiet down. Reacted differently than other young people at the time.

Lessons in American narcissism: the man in front of me at La Traviata tonight angrily told me I was “out of line” and needed “to back off” because I kindly asked his adult daughter to stop talking during the performance.

@JamesTate121 Remembering Dick Cheney having a Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) for 18 months before he got a heart transplant, couldn’t Trump use one of those as well? I wouldn’t count on Trump not getting a transplant if he wanted one. Did Cheney have fluid problems?

So I really think Trump's time is coming to an end and not from his dementia. He has congestive heart failure and this week he put on what looked like 40 lbs overnight. As someone who has had congestive heart failure in the past, that's fluid buildup. You can't put on, as my doctor always used to tell me, 5 lb in a day. Unless you're having a fluid buildup issue. In fact if you have heart failure especially congestive, you're supposed to have a scale and anytime you gain more than 5 lb in a 24-hour period you are to go to the emergency room. The fact that he looks like he gained 40 lb in a week or even more? Looks like his heart is now in full CONGESTIVE failure. Why failure? Because he has the best medical care in the world the opportunity to have IV Lasix everyday if you needed it and they can't control his fluid anymore. Because they can't control his fluid anymore that means his heart has gotten basically big and floppy and flaccid. My type of heart failure is restrictive cardiomyopathy. The heart hardens before the heart becomes flaccid. In the end the heart always gets flaccid. Flaccid and ineffective. Fortunately last time I had my test I was doing really really well. I came out of congestive heart failure about 6 years ago. But when you get to the stage where the heart is so flaccid that it can't keep up with the fluid issue and you are getting the best medical care in the world and the opportunity to have IVs to drain that fluid, your heart is coming to the end of its existence. If he was below 70 he might be able to get a heart transplant, but I don't think with his narcissism he would even allow that because he would have to hand over the Presidency for a number of weeks. He has no way to get one in the United States at this time not even as President unless they kill somebody and do it on the down low. Usually that would be a joke sadly it's not. But I don't think that's going to happen, so it's hard to say like how long he has when his heart gets this inefficient, because we don't know how bad but we do know he cannot keep up with the fluid at this point which means his heart can't keep up with his bodily needs. I'm thinking before the end of the year. By the way the step before transplant is called all that a left ventricle assistance device, the rumor for a long time is he already has one of those. Also if you look at him this last week up close on TV, he is looking very bad. Anyway, that's my thought for the day. ~~~~~~~~~~Via Dona Barone

@emkenobi This has no context. Yes, pushing her into a lobotomy was fucking awful. But, by no means was she a normal 23 year old. In the 1940's, they had no idea that bipolarism was a thing. You don't know that he didn't think he could actually help her with the procedure. So easy to judge

I will never get over the fact that their father forced Rosemary Kennedy to have a lobotomy because she was being a normal 23-year-old girl who wanted to have fun, and her father said she was ruining the family’s image. He contacted a doctor who told him a lobotomy would “correct” her behavior, but it ended up making her mentally and physically handicapped. She could no longer walk or talk properly and had the mental capacity of a child. Her family was then embarrassed by her condition, so they sent her to live at an institution for the mentally impaired, where she lived until her death in 2005. Her family also didn’t visit her for 20 years, fearing they’d be photographed with her and it would cause a scandal in the press. Most people don’t even know about her existence because the family rarely talked about her. Her siblings didn’t even know where she was until their father's death in 1961. Despite JFK being the president at the time, he still prioritized keeping in contact with her and managing her medical care. It was said that he was extremely protective of her and would visit whenever he was able. Her mother eventually began visiting her after 20 years. Her father never went to see her after she was institutionalized. He was the reason for her disabilities, and he completely abandoned her. Once her siblings discovered where she was, they visited her regularly, and Eunice Kennedy eventually started the Special Olympics because of her. The surviving Kennedy siblings were at Rosemary's side when she passed. She could have lived a normal and happy life, but her father took that away from her because she didn’t meet his expectations. Nothing ever happened to the doctor who was responsible for the lobotomy.
