The UN General Assembly's Third Committee has passed its annual resolution calling on #Iran to abide by its human rights commitments. @CanadaUN and @NZUN mentioned #Bahai persecution during the session. Eighty UN Member-States (Panama registered theirs after!) voted in favor.
Canada strongly condemns the Iranian regime’s decision to impose the death penalty on some arbitrarily detained protesters. We urge the regime to reverse course. These trials and sentences are clearly designed to intimidate Iranians as they fight for their human rights.
